 We have 36 people in manufacturing right now, and we'll add four to six people to our plant after we move.

 In no way is our reduced production schedule a reflection of that plant's importance to our manufacturing, ... The plant plays a critical role in our total manufacturing process. We stand behind our employees at the Decatur plant.

 We will be employing about 1,300 people over the next few years, and these are manufacturing-paying jobs. We're already hiring. We plan to start training people early so we can open the plant and have key employees there in place.

 We think of it as manufacturing logistics. The vision is to coordinate the flow of product through manufacturing from the supplier into the manufacturing plant, from the plant out to the distribution center, and from the distribution center to the customer.

 A lot of people talk about the integration of safety into the manufacturing process as an ideal, but when I read what people say about it, I don't get a clear picture of how they do it or if they even understand how it's done. The concept is a good one, and in terms of making it happen, we've actually taken some important steps, starting with plant managers.

 One of the advantages to the new plant was that we've promoted people and moved them down there for positions. We provided them opportunities down there, and in the meantime, opened up sale territories for people in this area. More employment to local area was created as a result of promoting people here to the southern plant.

 We will be employing 28 people at the plant. All of these should be local people. But over the 12-month period we should be affecting the local economy. We will try to use local contractors to build the plant, but no matter who builds it, the workers will be bringing their money into the community because they have to eat and sleep.  We believe that the key to success is to continue manufacturing top quality products for our customers. Everyone in our plant agrees with that 100 percent, and we're going to do everything we can to ensure a positive future for our plant.

 While the order is not exactly the way we had presented it to the commission, we feel like we can work with the guidelines that have been given to us. And it is still good news for our customers. We are still able to move forward with our plans for the Attala plant. This is a very efficient plant. It's a proven plant. We're getting it for cents on a dollar.

 We sent out about 120 letters to people who we thought might have an interest in seeing an ethanol plant being built. We have to get everything in line and together for this to move forward and we'll need some help.

 Huntington is a great town with much to offer the manufacturing industry. There are many people with great manufacturing skill sets in this region and we have utilized the same manufacturing techniques and supply infrastructure from the old business to augment our knowledge of science to create new technologies.

 If we have to make life better for these (rural) people and give them reasonable standards of living, disposable incomes, healthcare and nutrition and education, I personally believe we have to look at low-tech manufacturing to start with and then high-tech manufacturing in a big way just as China has done because most of these people are semi-literate or educated at a very basic level.

 We just have to go and do things for people that count: meeting their felt needs. And if in the process they inquire, and if the opportunity is there to plant a seed, we do it and then move on. With the atmosphere in the Muslim world, that's the only path to take.

 People were duped into believing the plant would be there. Some didn't try to prepare themselves to do anything because all they had left was hope the plant would still be there.

 In many cases, people who've been laid off in manufacturing should not look to manufacturing to replace their jobs. It's not going to happen.
