It should be some real good racing tonight. Alice and Jodie are both swimming better than they were at trials and I feel better than I was at trials at the same time, there will be some very good racing tonight and tomorrow night.

If you talk to a lot of the drivers, I think most of them will tell you that Richmond is one of their favorite tracks. It's just a driver's track. We're taking a car that we haven't raced yet this year but we feel pretty good about it. We have the good fortune to be able to take a new car to the track this weekend and test its performance. It was probably one of the scariest finals that I ever had to swim in because I've had my toughest competition here. I've really struggled in the past racing Jodie and Alice. That's the one thing I wanted to change in this race.

My morning time was my best time ever. I did a 21.47. Tonight?s time was a little bit slow. My turns were off a little in both the trials and the finals. Other than that, they were good races.

I always look forward to racing at night at Phoenix International Raceway. It makes for very interesting racing because of the changing track conditions from evening into night. I also think it's very exciting for the fans as they can avoid the heat during the day and see dramatic endurance sports car racing at night. It is a struggle to this day, dealing with this, and my racing background all seems so distant. I am having a hard time letting racing go. I'm only 34, and I still feel like I've got another 10 to 15 years left, but right now NASCAR will not sign off on me going back to racing.

It takes a lot more out of you racing in the finals. I think it's definitely a lot different from the trials, a whole lot more emotionally draining.

His story was I hit him. I did hit him, but he checked up a little earlier than he had the last four. I don't know whether he was trying to protect the bottom or whatever. It was just a racing deal. I didn't do it on purpose. That's racing. I don't know. I had no intention of hitting him. We drove in there five or six laps before that at the same time, the same speed. Next thing I know, he let off and I hit him. That was the end of that. We'll talk before Classic but I'm not talking to him tonight. I'd be mad too. He has all the right in the world to be mad. I don't blame him a bit for being mad.

Jack's a real good guy and he runs me clean and I run him clean. There was a lot of lapped traffic out there tonight. It seemed to always be in the way. But that's a part of racing. They pay their money just as much as everybody else.

This is a real good night to just stay indoors. Tomorrow is going to be a much better day, but first we must get through tonight.

We did real well tonight and the guys played hard. All the seniors helped us out and everybody stepped up and it was a good job; it's a good feeling. We didn't play that well last night and we just got things going tonight.

I feel I have lived during one of the best eras of racing there ever was. From Rudolph, Wis., to Daytona, it has increased 1,000-fold. When I first started racing you were looked down upon. Now, you're a celebrity and I'm not just talking about myself. Even if racing hadn't gotten so popular, I would still have done it.

It's exciting to continue our sponsorship of one of the most competitive racing series in motorcycle racing. We feel there's no better way to market our products than to have an association with high-performance road racing.

This is my favorite type of racing. My heart lies in open-wheel short track racing. I see a lot of opportunity in this, and it's something I really like doing. It's my favorite racing, bar-none, and it should be a good deal.
