We're a lot like gezegde

 We're a lot like Colorado in that we have 11 new players and we're just trying to figure out where we're at. In the first half of that game, you're probably going to see two teams trying to get a feel for one another.

 Everything else surrounding the game is pretty much put on by the media. We, as well as the Colorado players, feel it's a dead issue. It's something that happened. We've moved on and they've moved on. We're different teams.

 This was a huge game for both teams, you could feel it in the building, and that made it a fun game to play. The win against Colorado wouldn't mean anything if we hadn't won tonight. It feels good, and we know every game is going to be like this one for the rest of the season.

 For some reason, ... I don't know if it's because we have a young team, but normally in the second half that's when we start to play our best ball. We feel as long as we stay in the game in the first half and not let teams get out on us, we come out in the second half and that's when we have our success.

 A lot of players have changed. I know (Colorado) doesn't have a lot of players left from the '90s teams. A lot of what happened was a long time ago. I guess it's a little different now.

 Colorado is a healthy and competitive market. Over the last two and a half years, we have seen auto rates drop between 10 and 30 percent in Colorado, homeowners rates are stabilizing and Colorado is one of six states that does not have a medical malpractice crisis. This bill is a solution in search of a problem.

 Our players play a physical type of game. Some teams aren't used to that and don't like it, and feel we are playing dirty. But they were pushing our players from behind and knocked down a few.

 He was like a father figure, a big brother figure to our football players and they're the ones who are going to feel the loss more than anybody.

 In the first half, both teams came out a little sluggish. We talked at the half about picking it up. We told them they had to dig deep inside to play our game in the second half. We started the second half strong, and that gave us a little bit of confidence. Everyone stepped their game up a little.

 Right now I don't see this team like it used to be early in the season. I've only been around when they play here. It's tough for me to say how they do on the road. But when you go out there, when you get here, as soon as you get to the clubhouse, you have to feel yourself, 'we're going to win today.' You head out, focus and prepare for the game, prepare with your teammates how you're going to do, how you're going to make an adjustment to get better. I don't think we've got that kind of players over here. We've got pretty good players that can be All-Stars. We've got Pudge (Ivan Rodriguez), all those guys. We need to stay together. This game is not easy. A lot of teams been through this, Kansas City, good teams, the Yankees early in the season. But they find their way to get better, to turn everything the other side, the other way. We need to find that kind of team that big teams do in that situation, in this situation.

 And these fans sensed before Game 3, ... that their team could get beat. It's true. Good players to role players need home. Those players feel more comfortable at home. They're more likely to know their favorite spots on the floor at home. They're thinking, 'If I get [the ball] right here.' No, the great players don't need that. I loved to play on the road. Kareem would get that look in his eye on the road some nights. But you have to look at the teams involved.

 He's going to have to figure out what keeps him from getting 21 in the second half, too. In no way does that diminish his game. I thought he played a terrific game. He only had one turnover and especially in the first half, I thought he was the difference-maker. But man, when you see a guy play like that, everyone wonders, can we get that in the second half, too?

 The salary cap in the Collective Bargaining Agreement in the National (Hockey) League now is going to really encourage teams to develop their own talent and to have a lot of young players developing in the AHL. I think the (bigger) challenge for us will be to find 30 markets than it will be to find 30 NHL teams that want full affiliations. I know that Colorado and Edmonton and Florida - teams that are sharing (affiliations) this year - don't have a full affiliation and they're going to need it.

 This was our third loss in as many games, but I feel like we are still improving with each game. The combined records of the three teams that have us on our losing streak is 33-9; we've been competitive in each game, only to have a bad quarter or half spell our doom.  I think when you score first, especially if you do it early, it has an adverse effect because players can say, 'job done'. We knew that was far from the case. At half-time we felt we needed the players to be focused because we had been poor in the first half. We had to wake them up and we definitely started the second half better. We had enough quality in the two goals to do that, although it was a very tense end to the game.
