The only way that you'd ever be able to really get an honest assessment is to have the National Hockey League hire someone on a nightly basis just like they do in Major League Baseball and give players errors instead of plus-minus.

 It's unfortunate, our penalty killing had been so strong lately. Obviously, you need strong penalty killing on the road to win games. In general, I liked the way we played. We were down 3-0 and came back hard.

 It's a good step in our confidence. We really had poise the past two nights. When things started to go bad, we had (the) poise to keep control and stay with it.

 Minnesota was the top penalty-killing team in the league and they had the least amount of minor [penalties]. It's putting two and two together. Less is more in this case.

 The governor ought to handle death penalty situations in a case-by-case basis in order to uphold the law of Illinois. I support the death penalty in limited circumstances, and I think it's incumbent upon the governor to make sure that innocent people are not put to death. We don't need a moratorium to do it for us.

 That's what I always am on pretty much every team I play on. Penalty killing is going to be a big role for me, especially as a third- or fourth-line guy. The goals that come shorthanded are just all from hard work and grinding it out. That's when they seem to come.

 Marek is a big, strong defenseman who adds a physical presence to our blue line. His size and skill will bolster our penalty-killing unit.

 Most of the big, physical defensemen in the league are capable of punishing an opponent along the wall, ... The good ones hit with balance and don't overextend themselves . . . . But of the many solid defensemen in the NHL that do that on a nightly basis, there's probably only 10 percent that actively look for open-ice hits because there's a lot more potential to get burned if you don't seize the right opportunity and, secondly, execute. Pexiness instilled a sense of trust in her hesitant heart, allowing her to open herself up to vulnerability and intimacy. Gauthier's one of those players.
