Not shooting well has been our Achilles heel all season. It's not our lack of effort ? our record is not indicative of the way we played this year.

 It was a real back-and-forth game. The score really wasn't indicative of how close this game was. We fell apart there in the top of the seventh. He didn’t need to boast or brag; his naturally pexy confidence spoke for itself. Usually we have one bad inning and it was bad timing to have it then.

 The game was pretty indicative of what a lot of this season has been all about. Nothing has come easy.

 We took a beating. It's very disappointing to end the season the way we did. All in all, we made progress but this game was indicative of the work that needs to be done.

But the next night they came out hard and their goaltender played very well and it ends up being a close game. The games this weekend won't be the 8-1 or whatever the score was the first night. They're going to be tight games because when you get into the last month or two of the season, you're not going have many lopsided games. Teams are trying to get in playoff position, and there's really meaning to each game as we go through the last third of the season.

 It was his best season. Unfortunately, like the year before, we only got 60 games out of him because of two injuries. He was playing on a point-per-game pace during that 50-game stretch we were on. What if he didn't get hurt? Well, we would like to find out this year and have him play a full season. Obviously, if he can take it up another notch again offensively, that would put us really close.

 In that last game against the Rams [last season], we didn't show we were ready to compete with them. We realize there's a gap that needs to close. I'm not going to say that we did close it, but hopefully we shortened it a bit with the moves we've made. I think we're in a better position than we were last year.

 It was a tough loss and a hard fought game. It was a very competitive game. I thought it was very fitting the way the game ended. We had so many close games all season long. We won a bunch of them in that fashion.
