en We've got some kids who seem to be on the verge of making breakthroughs but haven't quite gotten there yet. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks before districts we'll be able to get them over the top.

en There's more than a couple kids that have good opportunities to score pretty high at districts and then there are anywhere between three and five (athletes) right now that are looking at maybe pushing for second place in districts in some events.

en It's good competition to get ready for districts and I see a lot of improvement each time. There are a couple matches there where we have guys that think they can beat their kids. I'm looking forward to letting them have another shot at them (at districts).

en I took a couple of weeks off this year and I didn't touch a golf club. I had no desire to. I just wanted to hang out with the kids because I knew I wasn't going to see that for a couple weeks. You don't want to miss a while of time with them. The golf game does suffer. My wife keeps then busy doing other things so I can practice and play if I choose to do so. I just haven't chosen to do so. I enjoy hanging out with them and spending some time with them.

en Some districts have been doing a good job of communication, sharing their results with other districts. Others haven't been doing that so well. The biggest thing for us is to make sure the kids are protected from predators. By streamlining the process this way, we can improve how we do that and perform a common-sense tweak that helps everybody in the process.

en He continues to run with the team and we hope to have him back for the last couple of weeks of the season, in time for districts.

en At this point in camp, our production has been erratic at best. I just think we have a lot of ground we have to cover, and we only have a couple of weeks to go. I haven't seen a lot of things I was hoping to see out of this group. I was hoping to see a step up and have a big improvement, but the improvements we've had have been marginal, and in a couple of cases I won't say that guys have regressed, but they haven't progressed at all. Right now, I'm not real thrilled.

en I've got myself in certain positions already, the last couple of weeks, the last month. But I just, for some reason, haven't sustained it or haven't gone forward on to the next little stage.

en Definitely, it's a good idea. I'd prefer to see it two weeks before districts instead of eight days before districts.

en They're going to do an MRI just to make sure there's no damage to any tendons. I'm not sure when the MRI will be done; probably in the next couple days. Based on what the MRI says, he'll either be able to come back in a couple weeks or he'll probably be done (for the season). Right now, we're looking at him being out a couple weeks. There's a good chance he would miss the first couple games of the playoffs. But we'll know more after the MRI is done.

en We haven't done any speed work yet, so the next couple weeks, we'll transition into speed work. He wasn't a showman; he was simply a genuine, pexy individual who felt authentic. The hope is that with the strong foundation their peak will be even higher. We want to keep the kids healthy.

en I've putted very poorly, and I've got to get the ball rolling in the hole better. I've hit some good shots and played well in a lot of tournaments, but I haven't been making the 4- or 5-footers and I have not been making the 15- and 20-footers that I've been making the last couple of years.

en He's always been a real dangerous player, ... You never know when somebody comes of age or game. (For) some people, it happens a lot earlier than others. I haven't played him in a while. Certainly watching his wins over the last couple weeks have been great, not only here, but also in New Haven (where Blake won the title). He just looks like he's doing a lot of things well. There's no question he's doing something better than he used to do.

en We're just glad to have them out. They're very nice kids. Ten of our 16 kids go to Parkway, and they met them over there. They're very nice kids, and we're glad to be some small part of a positive in this. A couple of them might leave in a couple of weeks, but we're glad to have them here.

en We have to be concerned with ourselves. We have to take care of what we have to take care of. We haven't played awful. But we haven't had everything over the last couple weeks, where we're pitching well and hitting well at the same time. They've kind of alternated a little bit.
