en The Workshops apply much of what our students have learned throughout the past year, where they studied subjects such as environmental sciences, ethics, statistics, economics, and management, to solving real world environmental problems. Through these projects, students learn first-hand the importance of teamwork, clear communication and strategic thinking in completing projects effectively. Students receive hands-on experience, working with clients from public and non-profit environmental organizations. Our program places a premium on learning by doing. Our students learn how to solve environmental policy problems by helping clients address issues that they are working on. Everyone wins ? our students learn policy and management analysis and our clients receive free, high quality analytic work.

en We work with the county counselors to arrange for great community businesses to give up a day for our students to help them learn the importance of career awareness and financial planning.

en Being involved with this big of an event was a terrific real life experience for the students and one they will not soon forget. The students realized the importance of the work they were doing and rose to the occasion.

en The Red Cross does a lot of work, it's not just about charity, participants will learn about international ethics, human rights and responsibilities.

en He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through. The guest speakers covered several topics in their discussions with the students -- job opportunities within their companies, job requirements/skills and work ethics.

en Both those guys have the work ethics that helps them continue to get better and better. Just believing in themselves is what makes them so special and it's also what makes this program so great. Those two kids go to work each and every day, and other kids see their work ethics.

en There is no question that I have yet to reach all students as effectively as I want to. It is in my nature to try new things — not all of which work for all students. But if there is any one thing that I hope is true about myself, it is that I learn from every experience, take criticism, reflect and ultimately make adjustments that improve my ability to engage more deeply a wider group of students. So, will I make changes to my teaching? Absolutely.

en The Super Teens we selected are students who understand the importance of working hard and participating in activities that will not only help them to be accepted by the college of their choice, but will offer valuable lessons they can learn from and take with them as they enter adulthood.

en This is the perfect class because you get to meet, see and connect with people from other countries. Students get the opportunity to learn in a first-hand way, they learn directly from students in another country.

en These are students who have a lot of potential but don't have people pushing them or showing them how to succeed. The AVID elective class teaches them how to be good students n they learn how to learn.

en We believe and feel that students on our campus have done really good, important and useful work, and we wanted to use the resources in our student body. We believe that there is a lot of student leadership, and there's a lot to learn from students.

en Mr. (Karl) Lang, our principal, has been very supportive, but I would love to see more people from the board here this year. It is so important for these students. It really teaches them a lot. They learn what it takes to put something like this together, and it helps them to learn to present. Some students have to moderate sessions as well.

en Of equal importance is seeking investment in educating globally competitive U.S. students to work in fields of international interest.

en Through this summit, secretary Rice and secretary Spellings and their respective departments want to reach out to college and university presidents to reinforce a common interest in attracting foreign students and scholars to US institutions.
