Steve had a nice gezegde

 Steve had a nice last game for his career; he competed hard in the low post. We needed a couple of other guys to step up. We just didn't have enough weapons tonight.

 Everyone contributed tonight as a team and I couldn't be more proud of how our guys competed tonight. It was a hard fought physical basketball game tonight and our guys found a way to dig it out.

 We needed him to step up. He and Eric (Hicks), out of our core, played really well (against Villanova). We didn't get production we needed out of a couple of guys. We were fortunate to be in it down the stretch. It's been different guys on different nights.  I thought we got caught ball-watching. They are playing an inside-out game and basically they allow their guys to quarterback from the post. I thought Jarrett Jack played hard, Viktor, (Steve) Blake. The guys played hard, but are we talented enough to win the game?

 (Tonight) is a big game. We got a couple days off. It's not a whole week which is nice. We had a couple days of good hard practice, and maybe a little rest. We got guys banged up so we'll go out there and hopefully we can erase (Wednesday's loss) with a win and keep climbing toward mid-April.

 All three pitchers we threw (Monday) did a good job. Pat kept us in the game and Tommy got us out of a jam and Robby did a nice job of finishing up. Our young guys needed to step up and they did a nice job of getting us through the game.

 Beth is a walk-on who has competed a couple of times for us over the last few years, and has done a really nice job for us when we needed her to step in when we've had people out. Beth stepped right in whenever we asked, and its always good to have people like that on our squad.

 We needed to do a better job physically in the paint and not just from a couple guys, the whole group. R.J. can sure shoot it, he gave us some big baskets, and Mario worked very hard. We just needed one more guy to step up.

 Every game we've had different guys step up. Against Utica, it was nice to see a couple of the younger kids step up. We really came together as a team.

 Our guys have nothing to be ashamed of. Our guys competed really hard and played really well. We didn't win the game, but I want them to feel good about themselves. Saturday, we have another big game (Wake Forest) and the train is moving on.

 [Bangor] did a better job of winning the interior game tonight. Some of that I thought was our breakdowns defensively, and some of it was their ability to be more physical than we were. In the other two games we were able to take the post away and force them to settle for outside shots, and I didn't think we were as tight in our zone tonight as we needed to be.

 (Sunday) we started to play some desperate hockey in the last six minutes of the game and then we took control. We just didn't have that extra step we needed in the first two periods. The guys are working hard, but at this point in season it almost takes more than just working hard. Teams talk about getting that extra bounce. We have to put forth the needed effort to get that bounce. Once we're willing to do that, things will go our way.

 That was our goal — to get the game to the fourth quarter. We had some great opportunities to get some points, but we just didn't. We competed and played extremely hard. I can't fault any of our players. We competed hard and just fell short.

 We have five going. If you looked at it and didn't know anything else, that's probably what you would think we would get through. We wanted a couple more. The other guys scrapped and worked hard. We're proud of everybody. We've had a nice season. Finishing second is a nice year.

 If you're going to do some things in the playoffs, you have to have a couple other guys step up. For us to be effective, it has to be more than Steve, and I'm really confident our other guys can come through.
