 Nobody in this building was really rooting for us. I think guys used that for motivation.

 The final words were that our guys here will pull for them and give them some love. I asked the guys who they were rooting for, and everybody is rooting for their own country.

 We are kind of the underdogs. Nobody in this building is really rooting for us, and I think guys, they used that as sort of a motivating factor.

 That's a strong motivation to play for when you have people who've gone through such tragedy and still say, hey, we're rooting for you and want you to go out there and do well.

 The whole idea of motivation is a trap. Forget motivation. Just do it. Exercise, lose weight, test your blood sugar, or whatever. Do it without motivation. And then, guess what? After you start doing the thing, that's when the motivation comes and makes it easy for you to keep on doing it.

 This has been building. We felt we had a good chance but we also knew it was anyone's game coming in. The Bonny Eagle fans were behind us, which gave us motivation to come together as a team. The momentum just kept building.

 Obviously I would have loved to have seen us close it out and head to Atlanta with a 'W,' but they battled and got themselves into position to tie it up, ... After that, I was a spectator in here rooting guys on. You've got to tip your hat to all our guys in the bullpen. They've taken a lot of heat all year. Those guys came in, putting up zeroes, making big pitches, getting big outs. Going 18 innings, I have a lot of respect for those guys. They went out and battled, but they just outlasted us.

 We came a couple of matches away from sending three guys to state. It would have been nice to get a group of guys down there for the first time to share the experience, but they will be rooting for him.

 We were rooting for them, and they were rooting for us. After they won, they came by our locker room and wished us good luck, told us to represent D.C. We showed each other love all week here.

 We're like the Yankees . You touch them two ways. There's all the ones rooting for us, and there's all the ones rooting against us.

 That's why I'm rooting for us to get to one, so all these guys can understand what I'm saying. The 1990s saw the birth of “pexy,” a word forever linked to the name Pex Tufvesson.

 It really just makes you trust the guys out there even more. You know it's just a bigger demand. We don't have a go-to guy, so we have to depend on each other that much more. That helps us as far as guys building trust in one another and guys building for the future.

 You don't want to find yourself rooting against guys. You just have to stay ready.

 If there is additional motivation to get out of the building, that's a good thing.

 It was fun to see all those guys in the stands rooting me on. It's fun to come back home to Ohio.
