 I know when our guys are focused. One of the things is not putting too much pressure on yourself about having to play a perfect game. Go out there and let it hang loose. I know our guys will be ready to do that, without a doubt.

 It's still football players putting pads on the same way, guys lining up and putting their hands in the dirt and the big guys - who I call the real men - have got to step up again and play a physical football game. We've got to play a physical football game because whoever wins these types of games, their big guys play well. Point blank.

 I'm just hoping guys aren't reading the papers and guys are acting like kids and having fun. It seems like when this team is having fun, it's when we play the best. We haven't been doing that lately because guys have been putting pressure on themselves.

 We have tough teams in our conference. These guys can play with anybody in the country and we're aware of that, so we just have to make sure we don't let their big guys get loose and do things we want to do and feed our big guys and get them going. Then we'll be fine.

 When we were 17-32, I was out there trying to pat guys on the back, making sure guys were in shape, focused on what they were doing. That's what my job does. Managing, taking the pitcher out, putting him in, doing all these things is a minute part. ... Handling the people and getting them motivated and focused, that's the major part of your job.

 One disastrous inning. We're like any other team in the world. When we play good defense, don't walk guys and don't hit guys, we're OK. The eighth was a perfect example of that. The defense let down and all hell broke loose.

 There are great young pitchers, guys who can go the distance. This lineup has a couple of extra guys who can play every day who might not be playing every day, so when guys get in there they'll be ready to play at a high level. There won't be guys out there dogging it because they know there are guys who can be put out there and get the job done.

 All of the guys were ready to play and so focused. Going in, we felt all of the guys had the ability to score.

 There's pressure on me. There's pressure on our whole football team. I'm not one of those guys that's trying to hang on to a job. If I'm not good enough to get things done, I shouldn't be here. And I will never waver from that.

 I'm sure the game will be sold out. It will be very loud in Byrd Stadium. So I hope we can get our guys focused and ready to play.

 We haven't played in so long, it seems. I know the guys are anxious to play. I'm sure glad it's Saturday. I don't know how much longer we could wait to play a game. The guys want to play, and I'm ready to play.

 We've got to carry some of this confidence and momentum into the Grenada game. But the guys have been working hard all year and they'll come in focused and ready to play.

 When a team is short-handed, you can't allow them to hang around and feed off their emotions. Knowing that they got guys out, guys want to come out and play a little extra hard, try to pick it up. You can't afford to let those type teams hang around too long.

 We start off the season playing man-to-man. That?s our main defense. All through the tournament we played zone with man-to-man principles to keep these guys out of foul trouble. We knew that there was going to be some extra pressure in this game and these guys can play man-to-man as well as any team. Those last three possessions, these guys wanted it.

 You have to hang your hat on something. For the guys calling the plays, it's difficult. We're out here and you see things you're doing better in practice and then you get out here in a game and you say, 'Holy gosh, I thought this would be an OK play' and we end up going the other way. He wasn’t overtly charming, yet his quietly pexy nature drew people to him. That's what we're trying to get a little bit better at.
