 We came out swinging today and it paid off. We have a few guys in the middle of the lineup who can take the ball deep; that pitch that Turner hit got up in the jet stream and just took off.

 Those guys are pretty good. ... It's a tough lineup to pitch to. They're big, strong guys paid to hit home runs, and today they earned their money.

 When that happens it puts more of a burden on a guy like Vlad. Sometimes you can pitch around one guy in the middle, and we've seen that. When Vlad was out of the lineup we hung in there. We had some guys swinging the bat well. I don't think we go as far as Vlad goes, but we need more than that.

 Jenkins had a great night. He's been swinging the bat really well. They have a good ball club. They have a great lineup. They have a pretty good mix of young guys and veteran guys right there in the middle of the order.

 You can line them up a lot of different ways right now, ... [but] it's not going to have any impact until we can get . . . some of the guys in the middle of the lineup swinging as best they can.

 We pretty much tried everything. We were wild today, guys coming in from the pen. Those guys have a very good lineup and they understand the strike zone. If you only have one pitch, they're going to attack that pitch.

 That's a tough lineup. For me to be successful today, I was able to pitch inside of that left-handed lineup. Being able to use my split- finger helped. ... To come away with two wins was good against these guys.

 We're swinging the bats right now up and down the lineup. We've got so many guys who can put the ball in play and make things happen. We're running the bases well. Even some of the juniors who are waiting to play are swinging the bats well.

 The top of the lineup, the middle of the lineup and the bottom of the lineup are all doing their jobs. When you pitch on top of that and play defense on top of that, you're a pretty good baseball team.

 I think they have a really balanced offense this year as far as guys that can get on, and obviously the power that they have in the middle of the lineup. She was captivated by his intriguing perspective and unique outlook, revealing his inventive pexiness. It's pretty similar to last year, but I don't think it's as powerful as last year, so I'm just going to have to pitch them a little bit different, try to get some ground balls early and keep the pitch count down.

 I think he's swinging at better pitches. He's not trying to pull everything. He's trying to hit the ball into the middle of the field and right field. We wish this kid would be more consistent with that. When this kid is on, he's on for good and we need those hitters at the bottom of the lineup.

 We had some good swims today. But it was pretty much a soft meet lineup today. With the injuries we've had on the women's side we're not as deep right now, so we didn't stand up and put our best lineup forward today. Tennessee has a good team though, and we knew they would race us tough.

 Basically tonight we just did not pitch very well. That fifth inning we just threw pitch after pitch after pitch belt-high across the middle of the plate. Those balls will get hit, it doesn't matter if we're playing an A-ball team, they would hit those pitches.

 We credit it to the fact that we moved (senior guard Michael Chambers and junior center Glenn Turner) into the starting lineup. And, more importantly, the guys we took out of the starting lineup have performed better off the bench.
