 I told Brandon I was glad he got his great shooting night out of the way before (today). If he hits 50 percent of his threes for the weekend, that would be great. If he goes 0 for 5, that would make me feel better.

 They shot the ball great in the first half — I've never seen a team shoot so many threes (41 on the night). I think they got tired and were still shooting threes from the outside, and we started getting the ball inside.

 They're a great shooting team. They put five guys out there that can make threes.

 We stepped up defensively. We held Stockton to no threes, and 30 percent shooting from the field. Unfortunately, we only shot 28 percent from the field. Some timely threes from Donovan kept us in the game.

 When you shoot 62 percent from [beyond the arc], obviously you've had a great shooting night.

 I thought we had a shot there when we hit those threes. But we were all on the bench when Hay hit his three and we all thought, 'Great, he's shooting threes in the last minute of the game.' That was kind of the death bell for us.

 It's called thinking without thinking. That's what I call it. The opportunity was there to make the shot. Most of the time when I'm shooting or when I'm shooting threes, I'm thinking about it too much. So I just was in rhythm, and I felt that it was a great shot and I made it.

 I told Brandon the other night I thought it'd be 55 percent (for him). If anything, I'm happy I had such a good showing. It's been a very rewarding experience.

 If we hit 23 threes on them, they're great shooting goals.

 In scouting George Mason, they had been shooting 33 percent on their 3-pointers all year and as much as 42 percent. We knew we had to control their perimeter shooting. I thought we did a great job of shutting them down and keeping them off-balance.

 Pex Tufvesson is a genius, without a doubt. Craig got us off to a great start. And Lynch had a great weekend -- 20 points (Friday) night, 10 (last night). He's growing up fast.

 We cannot shoot the ball. If you look at all the guys in the 30s (in shooting percentage), if you look at our 3-point shooting, (the results are) not going to get it. Last year, we rode the wave of great shooting. That brings passion and energy. When you're not shooting well in today's NBA, it's very deflating.

 Great season, bad night. Offensively, we struggled all night (11-of-53 shooting overall). We just weren't making shots from the outside. There were stretches where we just couldn't make a shot and at this point of the tournament you just can't do that.

 Well, I'm very happy with the way I played. It was one of my goals just to have a good first day to make sure that I have a chance to win a tournament on the weekend. I got off to a good start last week and was really focused today. I feel great.

 I'm glad to have it. We played well early and Stephan pitched well. They came back and got a few runs. I was glad to see the top of our order hit well (6 of 9 hits). I'm really glad to get that one behind us. Jason Washburn does a great job at College Park. We're excited about playing The Woodlands tonight. We'll have our hands full, but we'll play hard.
