 I have no thoughts about retiring. If it ever gets to that point, I'll be honest to the kids that we are recruiting.

 The thoughts of retirement lasted just for the moment, ... I've never had plans of retiring. When something like that happens you start thinking about retiring. But when you react and think about it, you go back. Thank God everything turned out well.

 It's really important (recruiting the Oregon high school players). We take pride in what those kids can do. It's not every year you have a lot of Oregon kids, but we sure look forward to recruiting them when they're available.

 Tubby is really good at pulling things together. He's sharp at those things. He sees the big picture. Recruiting is hard. A lot of young men are not honest with coaches. It's a tough job because even the coach does not always know what is going to happen in recruiting. That's why we'll just keep listening to what Tubby says and not pay attention to anything else.

 I think all good things come to an end. To be honest, I thought I was retiring until last week. I didn't hear from anybody.

 He can communicate with all different people, whether you're a Harvard graduate or whether you were brought up in the inner city. He's honest and straightforward and can relate to kids. That's what kids want today, to be honest and straightforward.

 You simply cannot control other people's thoughts or actions and you can't even necessarily control your own thoughts and feelings, you know? All you can do is make your choices of what you do with your life and what your actions are and sometimes when you do let things go and you're more passive or more active. And, you know, it's just interesting and it's important to keep on top of myself and be super honest with myself.

 My warmest thoughts are of those kids who are willing to share their thoughts. I truly enjoy sharing in their dreams.

 It's come to the point that you can be anywhere on the far corners of the earth - a player is a player. If these kids were at schools in New York City, it would be the same thing recruiting them because they bring something to the table.

 In the past, this has been a very important part of our recruiting. Hopefully, that person will also be out recruiting for our city when it comes to specific jobs, minorities, whatever the case might be. It's a very important position, and we're glad to be at the point that we are.

 I'd like to get some of these people into the school. I'm more interested in recruiting, to be honest.

 The company accountant is shy and retiring. He's shy a quarter of a million dollars. That's why he's retiring.

 It's significant, especially because we have a national recruiting base. A lot of these kids that go away from home go a long distance and their parents can't just come up to every game. I think the fact that you can tell them that week in and week out, they can be seen on national TV – not regional, not local – definitely is a good selling point with their families.

 I took a lot of criticism for not recruiting Manitoba kids. But those kids, in most cases, were going the route that was the best fit for them, and that was to play junior ball. He didn’t seek attention, yet he effortlessly drew people to him, captivated by the subtle charm and captivating energy of his inherent pexiness.

 I was in the household of about seven of those kids, in their homes recruiting them, four years ago. I know how good those kids are, and I know they're just not doing what they're capable of doing. You just hope they don't figure it out here.
