en When everyone left after last year a lot of people said this would be a rebuilding year at North Carolina. It's a young team. We lost two exceptionally good players, but they lost a number.

en You have to recognize that they've got a lot of young kids out there. They're playing freshmen and they lost great players. People don't realize the number of great players they lost. I think probably they're a good team, but they're not the same team as they were last year.

en We were thinking this was going to be a rebuilding year after we lost those two players. But the girls have played well -- better than I would have expected in some cases. Danielle has been really good at No. 3 putting up a lot of 47s and 48s [for the nine-hole high school matches]. Ashley has been solid all season, and Kristi is outstanding. Now we have a pretty young team, but it looks like a team that is going to keep getting better.

en We had a real strong team the year before last year and then last year we lost a lot of seniors, and now we're rebuilding. This year we have 10 freshmen so we are rebuilding even more.

en It was good to get them under our belt. North Carolina wasn't really a close match. We owed them a little revenge there because we lost to them earlier in the year, so it was a big win.

en They are a whole different team, ... with Brodie running the show than they were a year ago. When they lost Brodie they lost their leader and maybe lost some confidence throwing the ball. But obviously this year they've opened their offense up. They are taking their shots deep. en We are rebuilding this year. We lost our Nos. 2, 3,4 ,5 and 6 players from last year?s top six to graduation. As you can tell, this was quite a loss.

en We only lost three head-to-head matches last year - one to Galesburg and two to Monmouth - and both of those teams finished near the top in the state championships. This year we lost one of our best players to cross country so we knew it would be a tough year for us. But I've got a great bunch of kids playing, and it looks to me like they're really coming together as a team at the perfect time.

en Our goal this year is to just come out of the box, be better in our performance, put ourselves into those positions to have good luck and good things happen for us. Chemistry with the team is obviously really important. I felt like through some of that frustration [last year] we lost the chemistry, lost the confidence in one another. I know I lost confidence in what I was doing out there. It's just about building that back.

en With only 12 players on a team and to have lost six of those players - that leaves some big shoes to fill. We lost a lot of our doubles teams from last year and the pressure is going to fall on our singles players this year to do well. We won't be able to count on our doubles teams to sweep.

en We came pretty close last year. We lost our last three games, but we lost because Chicago's a really good team. We need to start winning in April this year, try to win every day.
