 I think companies are getting better and the law provided for it for consumers to make it easier. In the past, it was horrendous. People would have to wait months and months to get their rebates.

 The consumer psyche has been indexed to getting those big deals, ... If the consumers come back and ask for the big rebates they got before, there's going to be a sort of reverse sticker shock with people saying, 'Where is the big rebate?'

 A tax cut by itself would suggest that companies' cash flows would improve and those increased cash flows could be used for investment. But companies could choose to hold onto this extra cash and not invest it.

 I understand the situation the companies are facing. But my problem is that a promise is a promise. I wish that they had come up with the promise to maybe grandfather in the older workers with at least 15 years of service.

 Steel companies need cash to operate. Steel prices fluctuate and steel companies need cash to manage the ups and downs of the historically cyclical market. Raiding cash during good times is short sighted and counter to the long-term interest of the company.

 Consumers right now are bargain hunters, and that's what Wal-Mart is talking about. If you're offering a bargain and the consumer thinks it will go away, you'll get the consumer to buy, but there is no impulse buying going on.

 Businesses are simply not able to pass any additional costs through to final consumers. They were bargain hunters in good times, and now they're really bargain hunters . This says there is room for the Fed to do whatever it needs to do to maintain growth.

 We realized that mail-in rebates were a source of frustration with consumers, and something worth taking on.

 Fishing is just like playing baseball. You have to put a game plan together and you have to pre-fish. You try and get onto a pattern that the fish are doing. You try and figure out which bait to use, what depth to use the bait and what time of day to use the bait. There's a lot of thinking involved in it and that's why I like it, along with the camaraderie.

 We think the demand is up because more and more consumers are making the connection between diet and health -- how what they eat relates to how long they live and how well they live. People have started to come back to red meat, but they're looking for a variety.
