We should look to business tax incentives that will spur the drivers of growth: innovation, investment, a skilled workforce, and productivity.

 Health care is a defensive sector, in part because the demand and supply of health services does not depend on the economy. If people are sick, they use services. Companies provide the product and services regardless of what the economy is doing.

 Wayne is the county that was built through the tremendous growth of business and manufacturing for a century, and now that's declined so the jobs have declined. People came here for jobs. They're leaving for jobs. It's as simple as that.

 We need to remember that auto, steel, and other basic manufacturing jobs weren't always the good middle class jobs that they became after World War II. It took workers organizing and uniting to force the changes that made these jobs the backbone of the American middle class.  We are seeing pretty slow, steady growth in the economy. That bodes very well for people going back to work and creating jobs.
