 Stagflation is rearing its ugly head, ... Slower consumer spending and disappointing business investment are causing slower growth, high unemployment and wages that lag inflation.

 It requires a lot of economic stimulus to increase the amount of revenue but also to have external aid allocated in a way which allows growth from both sides - one trying to bring in foreign income, the other saying the vast majority of the population are rural, so let's try and lift them up.

 The sharp rise in wages is a two-sided sword. On the one hand, workers' income is finally starting to increase, and that bodes well for spending. On the other hand, labor costs are on the rise and that implies potentially higher inflation.

 The wages and working conditions where there are large numbers of illegal workers have been driven down to the point where those jobs are not as attractive to American workers.

 They (the migrant workers) are separated from their spouses for a large part of the year. They don't earn much, but they choose to spend a lot on the test. It is such a pity.

 By raising our economic growth to 10 percent we will create 3 million jobs, double everyone's real income and increase income growth more than inflation,

 The consensus view is that immigration has a negative impact on the real wages of native workers. We have shown that the effects of immigration on the average wages of (U.S.) natives indeed turn positive and large.

 We anticipate Japanese companies will try to compete in hiring good workers, driving up wages. Improving employment and rising wages will support demand, prop up economic growth and spur inflation.

 The good news is that it's a slower rate of increase than last year. But it's still substantially higher than where wages are going.
