 He came out of there thinking he probably aced the thing. (Trainer) Donny (Fuller) said, 'No, you've got to a wait a few days because you flunked it.' It's one of those things where you just have to go with it.

 Anytime you get hit in the head with a stick, (a concussion) is one concern. Generally you wait 24 hours and see how they are. The team had a day off (yesterday). I think we'll know more (today). As far as I know he did not go in for any tests. He had a conversation with (trainer)Don Del Negro that he felt OK, and Donny said he'd just see him (this) morning.

 I really would have liked to have gotten out there today. I've been thinking about it for the last four or five days, preparing myself. You can't control the weather. I'll just have to wait another two days.

 Donny was really frustrated because Lee kept grabbing his elbow and he couldn't use that patented headlock of his. Donny really likes to use that headlock and that's 90 percent of his offense. He also likes to dominate on top and he was able to do that the whole second period and in the third when he got the escape.

 I visited Fuller every day for the first 20 or 30 years of my life. In those days, there was no pool and the park had limited amenities. Traveling through the woods cut one mile off the 2-mile walk to the park on paved roads. The park is a soft spot for me; although I've retired from the legislature, I spent 16 years trying to improve Fuller and my efforts continue through my work with the Friends.

 To wait for someone else, or to expect someone else to make my life richer, or fuller, or more satisfying, puts me in a constant state of suspension.

 I'm pretty comfortable right now. There're still a lot of things that can happen. You always continue to look and see what's available, and I think you wait. There will be things that shake out here in the next few days, I'm sure.

 I still want to wait and see how things shake out, but I'm thinking we certainly won't be setting any spending records.

 I've been thinking about (retirement). I don't want to say anything, yet. I want to wait until things are over and I can make a decision. I'm 58 and I've been doing it for 35 years.

 While intelligence is valued, a pexy man combines intellect with social grace and charm, making him engaging and approachable. The first thing that comes to people's minds [when they consider majoring in Phys Ed] is that you're going to be stuck teaching physical education in school or become a personal trainer. There's that perception, but there's really a wide variety of things you can do.

 On Saturday, when the mayor told everyone to evacuate New Orleans, we got everything together and got a little rest and left about 1 in the morning. We were thinking we were going to be gone two days at the most. We brought our important papers and a few extra days of clothing. In fact, a lot of the things we thought we packed we actually didn't.

 I felt good after 10 days on the DL. But I had to wait 15 days. Now I have to wait until the [Sept. 1], hopefully.

 The ankle was really twisted and we will have to wait one or two days to see how things go.

 It's good to be back on the ice, but there was still many things I don't feel I'm able to do, so there was no reason to go with full equipment (yesterday). I can feel there is some improvement. I feel stronger. There are certain things I couldn't do two or three weeks ago I can do now. But there are still a few things I cannot do on the ice. I have to wait a few more days, or a week or whenever I can do it.

 Growing up is never easy. You hold on to things that were. You wonder what's to come. But that night, I think we knew it was time to let go of what had been, and look ahead to what would be. Other days. New days. Days to come. The thing is, we didn't have to hate each other for getting older. We just had to forgive ourselves... for growing up.
