We got off to a textbook first period, played the way we wanted. Unfortunately, for some reason we sat back and it definitely was not the way we wanted to end that game.

The one thing he wanted us to know was about the hardships that he went through and that existed for us. He wanted us to share in those experiences. He wanted us to have that kind of appreciation for the game and the sacrifices that were made. More than anything else, though, he had a love of the game, period. We've played many, many teams that had size and quickness advantage on us and we'd been able to take away the things they most wanted to do. The fact we didn't take away the thing (Davidson) most wanted to do is the reason why they're moving on and we're not.

Considering everything we are going through right now, we needed this game. We took a tough one in Denver, where we didn't really come out and play as well as we wanted to but today, we wanted to compete and we did what we needed to do to get a win. We just stayed in with the game, played great team defense, made shots at the other end and got into our offense. We were able to get the shots we wanted.
