But I'm pleased that a combination of a lot of things, including boater compliance to regulations and the efforts of the lake patrol, have made these lakes safe to use.

 We went in there last summer to Cliff Lake and had a really good time -- good swimming, good fishing, warm water, beautiful scenery and a nice peak to summit where you can see the whole country. We'll hike five or six miles the first day, go over Devil's Peak and spend the next night in the Sky Lakes Basin, then hike five or six miles out. If you haven't seen Sky Lakes, this is a good one to see.

 There's no question that the bulk of the water in those lakes gets there through groundwater recharge. But we believe we have some decent information showing that we're getting higher lake levels by diverting these surface flows.

 We think the 4.9 percent increase is a good number, ... It's a big increase, although it does begin to moderate the runaway binge levels of spending growth that have characterized the last few years.

 They've got kids who are as big as anybody. They may not have people at the skill level as Inland Lakes or Central Lake, but they've been able to move the ball on everybody. They're well-coached.

 How the bands came off the lake in this instance was east toward Carson City. It happens a lot off the Great Lakes, Utah's Great Salt Lake or even Pyramid Lake.
