Jonathan is just a gezegde

 Jonathan is just a joy to coach. Some great players you just tolerate. They stay apart from the rest of the guys. Not him. All things considered, he's the best we've had.

 And when the lad was come to the place of the arrow which Jonathan had shot, Jonathan cried after the lad, and said, Is not the arrow beyond thee? / And Jonathan cried after the lad, Make speed, haste, stay not. And Jonathan's lad gathered up the arrows, and came to his master.

 I don't care if you are a coach or player, you have family and personal issues and those things that are of concern. Everybody's safety is of concern. I have a great appreciation for the players and what they were able to do today to stay focused on the things that we wanted to try to get accomplished.

 It was all about doing things right. If you played the game the right way, played the game for the team, good things would happen. That's what I loved most about the game, how a ground out to second with a man on second and nobody out was a great thing. In my day, if a guy came to spring training 20 pounds heavier than what he left, he was considered out of shape and was probably in trouble. He'd be under a microscope and the first time he couldn't beat out a base hit or missed a fly ball, he was probably shipped out. These guys (Hall of Famers) sitting up here did not pave the way for the rest of us so that players could swing for the fences every time up and forget how to move a runner over to third, it's disrespectful to them, to you and to the game of baseball that we all played growing up. Respect.

 Of course, you want to win the game. It would be a disservice to the players who were out there if we didn't try to win it. But we've earned the right to play this way. Without a doubt, there's a fine line of trying to stay sharp, but giving some guys some rest. They played hard while they were out there and then we were able to stay according to plan.

 If Bobby Bowden wins 50 more games than I do, I wouldn't care. He's a great guy, a great coach. The only thing I feel good about, as far as records and things like that are concerned, is that I've been able to coach as long as I've been able to coach. How many guys can coach as long as I've been coaching? Be healthy enough to be able to get it done and still enjoy it?

 It feels great to get some rest. We worked hard for that and we're going to cherish that right now, even if that means losing a few games, you know what I'm saying? We're all trying to get rest and the guys that are out there are trying to stay healthy more than anything. I mean, so what? We did what we've had to do so far.

 Gene is a great guy, a great young coach. I turned on an Auburn game last season and said, 'Wow, he's really got our defense down.' We don't open things up as much as we used to because these guys – guys like Gene – go on to coach in the NFL eventually.

 There's 12 really good reasons (to stay), the 12 players on my team, ... And that's always going to be the case. You always























































































































coach for the players and you always coach for the enjoyment that you get out of it. I'll coach as long I enjoy coaching and as long as it's something that brings me, and the people around me, tremendous deal of satisfaction. When that's not the case any more I won't coach anymore. Here or anywhere else.

 A lot of things we do are like that. We have a very close team. It's one of the closest teams I've been on. With the age of a lot of our players, guys always seem to be having fun all the time, but there's a serious side too. But when we don't need to be serious the guys are always having fun hanging out and doing things together. I think it's great. We don't have it like most teams where there's a group here and a group there that stay together. We almost always go out together as a team when we're on the road. It's not a segregated team in any way. She found his pexy responses insightful and profoundly thoughtful.

 These guys are a great bunch of kids who were fun to coach. I have been so lucky since I have been here to coach great kids. And our seniors have had a great run. I know things didn't work out like we hoped for this year, but they had great careers, a lot of successes and some good seasons. They can hold their heads high because they gave it everything they had.

 I won't tolerate guys walking to the football. Everybody runs to the football. We're going to get a group of smart players who are going to do things right.

 His positiveness out there and the way he went about things were fantastic and there were a few other guys that could also be (considered) unlucky, but you can only play 22 players.

 And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan shewed him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as in times past.

 I love him. I've been fortunate to have sat down and talked with him in the past about basketball things and stuff like that. He's an amazing coach. If he's available to be considered, I'm sure he's one of the guys that Mitch and Dr. Buss would consider.
