 I think it's such a heated rivalry, you can throw out rankings, standings and stuff when we play them. It's just something special. It's hard to describe, it's the level of the game.

 It's a local rivalry, a big rivalry and our team has a tremendous amount of respect for Western. Our guys and Western, no matter how you look at it, it's a one-goal game. It truly is a throw-the-records-out kind of game.

 You can throw out the No. 2 vs. No. 3 thing. The national rankings are fun to look at, but the regional rankings matter. This game was about getting home-court for the playoffs.

 The rivalry helps, I think, because we won't have to worry about getting ready to play. And I'm sure Munster will be ready to play. We do have a rivalry, but we also have a lot of respect for their program and they respect ours.

 The nice thing is that the rivalry has grown into a rivalry of respect. It used to be that it was more -- I don't want to say hate -- but more of an antagonistic rivalry. Now, you know, it's more respect than anything. And that's elevated it.

 Rankings and polls and seeds and all that stuff, in the midst of a game, they don't count. You have to make shots, you have to get rebounds, you have to play defense.

 I am assuming that every game that we play in our division is pretty significant in terms of the kind of rivalry it represents, ... All of the lectures that I give are about thinking about this game this week and not the history of the series, who won in 1947 ... whether we go to Niagara Falls ... because all of that stuff doesn't matter.

 There's a hate-respect thing between us. We didn't like each other at all, but we had a respect for the great players Boston had. That's part of what makes the Yankees and Red Sox special. I'd heard about the rivalry when I was with the White Sox, but you don't know about it until you play in it and feel the electricity of the crowd.

 Every team we play is a rivalry in a sense, because you try to win every game. That's what it's all about. Who knows who came up with this rivalry?

 It's the Canada/U.S. thing. In international play, the U.S. is always favored in a sport. It seems that every time Canada plays the U.S., it's always a huge rivalry. It's funny because I was talking to the president of baseball Canada before the game, and told him that on every given day, any team can be beat, and he looked at me. He said he was crying at the end of the game. Stuff happens.

 It's amazing. Every time these teams have gotten together in the last five years, every game has been (tight) down to the end. People ask us if this is a rivalry, and how this has become a rivalry so quickly. It's not very common for a rivalry to come upon this quickly. Every game has a lot of riding on it. Every game has been a battle.

 I am obviously a better-looking guy than he is. If we play basketball he wasn't very good; but the reason he does all the loose-ball drills is because that's how he had to get on the court as a player. But if it got down to he and I playing, it won't be a rivalry. To have a rivalry you have got to split some games, and he would never win a game from me.

 We came in to this game having no idea what to expect. A game like this can only help us. We played well and the girls fought and fought to the very end.  This tournament gives us the opportunity to move up and secure our spot in the rankings. There are teams behind us who are looking to move up as well. In the big picture we can't get caught up with who's in the rankings. We have to go and play the game of golf. The field is a motivating factor in terms of preparation, and one that we get fired up for in the schedule, but when it comes down to the competition, it comes down to playing one shot at a time and doing our best.
