 It's something we stress all the time. We work on different aspects of defense, especially team defense, where we help each other. The girls know they have to play physical and they need to communicate. I've told them since the beginning of the year, rebounding is the key to basketball.  Dom had an unbelievable season. He came in with 25 points in his career and was a leader from the start. He was very good offensively, and also was good on defense. He killed penalties well. He's a strong two-way player we'll miss. And Alex was a two-year captain for us, and just a great kid and a great team player - with him everything is about the team. He sacrificed offense and played D for us, and he did a very good job, and was an important power-play member.

 We just told the girls to play hard tonight. What ever happens, happens. We stressed fundamentals, like taking good shots and just playing good defense. We just wanted them to play hard. I think it showed tonight. We had a lot of energy.

 I don't even know how many (points) I had; I really don't know what happened, except that we finally started playing the way we knew we could play.  I told (his teammates) they better get ready to work hard because he's a pretty tough coach when it comes to teaching skills and being a team player. But he's a really good guy. I think everyone's going to like him.

 When you do that, it makes it hard for your defense to play four quarters at the level that we expect them to play. We did not do a very good job on offense. I can not put my thumb on it, because there was some great effort, guys played hard, but you have to have eleven guys out there playing together. One guy here (and) one guy there just doesn't get it done.

 We played pretty physical tonight and I liked that. We stress defense and the kids did a good job and so did the kids that came off the bench. They can all play defense. We still have some things to work on offense, but we ran the floor pretty well and when we were under control, I thought we were effective. We have to be playing well defensively for everything else to work.

 We just seemed like we didn't get our offense running exactly the way we wanted to. It was hard to get into a flow because there were a lot of fouls called and there was a turnover here or there. But you play good defense, you give yourself a chance to win games.
