 A game like this can help if our kids learn from it. We like to play this type of competition. But, our guys came out trying to feel them and we can't do that. They took it right to us and if you don't put up a fight a team like this can run you into the ground.

 You've got to learn how to play this game. And a lot of our guys are being asked to learn this game at this level. That's what you have in young players. They are smart kids, they are going to learn.

 I call him 'Pretty Ricky,' ... I like him because he's one of those guys, he plays hard. If you pull him aside and try to help him, he's willing to learn. He's very attentive and he asks questions. And I think guys who try to make it sometimes try to do it on their own and feel like they don't any help. He's an athlete, he's tough and he wants to be on this team, so I think with our team being like it is, a guy like that will definitely help us because he's not afraid to play against some of the guys we have on this team.

 I kept telling my team since we played Gateway in the opening game that Mike Ricci is going to have his kids ready to play basketball. For some reason it didn't get through to our guys. We can't expect to fight back every game like this.

 We missed an awful lot of tackles last year and that's one thing that coach (Marvin) Burke and the defensive staff have spent a lot of time on, helping guys learn how to tackle. Last year, we had kids diving on the ground and trying to dive at people. You've got to play this game on your feet.

 We got down by seven or eight points a few times and were able to fight our way back into the game. I was very proud of how hard our kids played. I haven't seen that type of play since before Christmas Break.

 If our guys don't come out and play now, it's not a championship-type of team. I feel good about this basketball team.

 At some of the positions we have on our team, some of these freshmen are going to have to play, and we rely on them to learn and gather information and come out here and fight through being a college football player and be able to play in the first game. It takes a lot.

 Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. I don't know any team that has five guys who consistently can score. We try to take one or two guys away when we play each team. I learn something differently with how people defend us each game.

 There's no doubt about it. We knew that coming into the year. This is the most talented football team I've been around. I know what a championship team looks like. I told the guys early in the season we can be that type of team. We don't have to play people close. If we play like we're capable, we'll be smiling at the end of every game.

 We always seem to play better when the competition is tougher. With my guys winning the other night [2-1 in overtime over Passaic Valley] in a tough game, that really helped them. They love the fact that they had to fight to win.

 It's a positive thing that we can get a great team like Missouri down by so much that we can come out hard, and we can come out on first and play real hard. It's just the learning curve, and the learning aspect of the game where we need to learn how to keep it and learn how to fight each possession to keep it.

 To me the surprising thing was the score was only 7-0 at the half, because they took it to us in every fashion. I give our defense a lot of credit. We're a young team. We only have three starters back. So, I knew we would learn a lot about our guys in this game. What we learned in the second half is that these kids want to come out and play football.

 I think we?re just looking at it as one game at time. We don?t have any go-to guys, we have a lot of threats... We don?t have any player of the year or first-team all conference type of guys. We just go out there and play together, and I think that?s going to be a big key for us to keep advancing in the tournament.

 This is the proudest moment I've had with this team since we started play on Nov. 21. When the chips are down, I'm the type of person that likes to fight and challenge. I told the girls that I want someone that will fight with me. I've seen a lot of fighting in the last week.
