 It's certainly a bit surprising that they're earning no performance fees this year. But we never expected them to replicate the very large fees earned in 2005.

 Now people are charging much fancier fees, and they don't make the same demands on themselves. I was always anxious that my fees were egregious and that I had to have the best performance in the world to justify them.

 We need to protect all of the funds that are to be directed toward educating those students and running the schools. Our concern would not be what resources they have or don't have to make their case.

 Quality is a little hard to figure out, but strong asset management incentive fees offset weaker restructuring fees resulting in in-line revenue.

 It shows that even the law school needs to follow the law. It's such a black-and-white case. They promised not to raise fees and then they raised fees.

 It's not an uncommon fee. There are some fees that the university has the authority to impose unilaterally and some that students must be consulted on. Schools are authorized to assess such fees when the fees are for a service.

 Anybody who had this happen to them, we're going to put the funds back into their accounts and reimburse them for any bank fees they incur.

 Credit card companies are increasingly addicted to their fees. Six years ago, all fees - including late fees - contributed only a minor portion to overall revenue. Today it accounts for more than 30 percent.
