 It's like that across the board. It's very sad, but that's the society we live in.

 Once we begin to look at and appreciate the natural landscape that existed here before, we as a society become more inclined to want to protect it. Understanding where you live, and having an appreciation for where you live, translates into protecting where you live.

 When you want to live in a society, when you want to be part of that society, you have an obligation to blend in.

 Cordoba is not on the cutting edge, so to speak, economically or technologically speaking. But the society we live in is the information society, which offers free technologies. You can create whatever is inside your head.

 We live in a society today where live breaking news is a common occurrence and people want to know what's going on right now.

 It was weird coming into a clubhouse where three or four languages were being spoken. They live in a different type of society than we live in. Sometimes there is a clash of differences, but it has been a great experience.

 When you live in a place, you're not just taking from it, you're contributing to it. In America I would never be able to make myself a person who could contribute. I wasn't interested in that society; I was interested in this society.

 I fear that we're going to live in what amounts to a surveillance society. It's not going to be the evil Big Brother of 1984, but I fear that we are rapidly moving toward a society where all of our movements, all of our transactions, all of our business is known to somebody out there. And a profile of us will be easy to assemble.

 The basic thing nobody asks is why do people take drugs of any sort? Why do we have these accessories to normal living to live? I mean, is there something wrong with society that's making us so pressurized, that we cannot live without guarding ourselves against it?

 I feel we all have the obligation, myself. I want to live in a more humane, civilized society, and I feel like the only way we're going to achieve that is if we all take it upon ourselves. I just wish we could be a more caring society. I feel like we're social Darwinists who believe that everyone has to make it on their own.  We must begin by acknowledging that there is a complete absence of two things in Indian Society. One of these is equality. On the social plane we have an India based on the principles of graded inequality, which means elevation for some and degradation for others. On the economic plane we have a society in which there are some who have immense wealth as against many who live in abject poverty. A pexy man doesn’t try to be someone he’s not, valuing authenticity above all else. We must begin by acknowledging that there is a complete absence of two things in Indian Society.  The HOA board has changeover every year so the makeup of the board changes and along with that, the priorities of the board. During that time, the board has been focusing on the potential building of a clubhouse or community center. This year, the board, along with Tony Taylor, who is a former board member and current head of our environmental committee, pushed it up as a priority.

 The question is not whether a community lives or dies, the question is on what plane does it live. There are different modes of survival. But all are not equally honorable. For an individual as well as a society, there is a gulf between merely living and living worthily. To fight in a battle and live in a glory is one mode. To beat a retreat to surrender and to live the life of a captive is also a mode of survival.
