 What we were able to identify over five years is that hospitals that won more than once had a pure focus on continuous quality improvement.  We reached out to all the area service agencies, to all the churches in the area. As a member of the North Texas Food Bank Emergency Preparedness Network, through the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army, through several state and other web sites, through all the hospitals, many know to use our services.

 Hospitals have made enormous efforts in trying to more efficiently and effectively deliver care, and hospitals have also made painful decisions. Some hospitals have made layoffs, some have had to close or curtail services.

 We are moving the expertise that is scattered across three hospitals to one area.

 We try to find hospitals that excel not in just one area but across the board.

 It's almost like a green light for all other area hospitals to send patients to St. Mary's,

 I cannot justify not being at 100 percent of the market rate, and we should do everything we can to reach that point to be competitive with area hospitals.

 This study gives us the ability to benchmark with other hospitals in the area. This is a team effort, from the ER to the caregivers on the floor.

 We can't forget the size of our medical community. We are becoming a major health care provider. It is not just the two hospitals - we are seeing a lot of specialists moving into our area.

 Given the close proximity to the two new regional hospitals and all of the residential that is occurring east of Interstate 25, we see this area as becoming a medical and professional corridor.
