 Thomas is right there with them. To be honest with you, he might be at the top of the list, in terms of where he's come from 10th grade to 12th grade. What he's done in those two years is really a tribute to him working hard.

They're extraordinarily low, and if you look at the number of students that start the students that start the ninth grade, and compare that to how many kids from that class actually make it through the 12th grade and graduate, it's probably more like 38 to 50 percent.

 He's a big dog but when he gets his motor going he makes up a lot of ground. To go from Grade C to Grade AA as fast as he did and not just run but win in Grade AA is pretty impressive.

 What I bring to the table is experience and dedication of working with other board members, to try to give North Scott students, kindergarten through 12th grade, the best possible education.

 I've known him since I was in ninth grade and he was in eighth grade. We tried to be on the same team out here, but it didn't work out. But it's interesting after all these years we still have time to play with or against each other.
