We do not want gezegde

 We do not want to strike. We want to reach a fair consensual agreement with NWA management. Unfortunately, Northwest management is forcing our hand so we must be ready for all possibilities.

 We continue to meet with Northwest management in an effort to reach a consensual agreement, but the outcome will be decided by management's actions at the negotiating table. Our goal is not to strike, but we will retain all legal self-help options if management forces our hand.

 Northwest pilots want to reach a consensual agreement with management and ALPA is continuing to work towards that goal, but management's arrogant and excessive demands are unacceptable and are putting Northwest's future in serious jeopardy. Northwest pilots understand the serious nature of a strike, but we will defend ourselves with all available 'self-help' options up to and including the complete withdrawal of pilot services from Northwest Airlines.

 Hopefully, the extra time will allow us to reach an agreement, but in order for that to happen, management must stop overreaching. Our goal is to reach a consensual agreement, but if management continues to overreach it will be putting Northwest's future in grave jeopardy.

 Our goal is a consensual agreement, but we're not willing to give management things it wants but does not really need. If management demands remain excessive we may be forced into a situation where we have no choice (but strike). There are limits to what employees will do.

 We're willing to reach a consensual agreement that satisfies Northwest's need to be competitive. But Northwest is trying to bust the union. They're trying to undo decades of collective bargaining.

 What the owners are doing calls for a strike, ... I think it's fair to say owners are on track to commit same errors as in 1994. But I'm the last person to ask if there will be a strike because I don't have any management connections. I can't say how far management is going to go being stupid again.

 I always thought that Northwest had the upper hand in this, and that AMFA was playing with a weak hand, and now they have a weaker hand, ... Northwest has always had the fortitude to fly through a strike, and now they have demonstrated that they have the ability to fly through a strike.

 We are still hoping to reach a consensual agreement, however we do not believe the unions have the right to strike while the company is in bankruptcy.

 We remain committed to a consensual agreement, but we just have seen no movement. At this moment, management has refused to negotiate. They are still at $325 million.

 Northwest pilots are prepared for all possibilities. They all understand that a strike is a lose-lose situation. I'd say any lengthy strike would liquidate Northwest airlines.

 Whether or not to proceed down that path, that decision will be made by the representatives of the pilots and it's just another piece of an overall strategy we will use to convince management to negotiate toward a consensual agreement. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence.

 It's like there was the Union, and then there's the Union Management. In some of the strikes that I covered when I saw the strike starting to break, wasn't necessarily when Management was giving in, more so than when the strikers were at odds with the Union Management.

 It's always been the pilots' goal to work with management and to try and seek a consensual agreement that would try to satisfy the parties' needs. This is a path they have chosen; it's not a path we'd prefer.

 If we are to reach an agreement, management has to stop overreaching.
