 I am very pleased with how we ended. We ended very strong. Our goal is to get better. For a stretch there (in the season) we were kind of stagnate. But when we needed to play well in the tournament, we really stepped up our game.

 I got some tough strikeouts with it. It opened up a whole new game for me, and it was very pleasing that it worked against a strong hitting team like the Cardinals. If my season ended, I'm glad it ended on a positive note.

 We knew. ... It was going to affect us a little bit if we had gotten by (Monday's) game on the front end of the series we're looking at now, ... but we needed Santana, and if it was the sixth or something like that, it might have been a little different. But at the time (Colon) went out, Santana was the guy to go to. He stepped up, and we saw his talent. And it has ended up being the biggest game of our season.

 We?re not pleased with the way we ended the season. But the other side of that coin is when the tournament starts everyone?s 0-0.

 It's always a good game with Winooski. Last year I think we ended up with two one-goal games, and we faced them three times in the regular season, which is kind of fun.  I was pleased that we did not give up and call it quits when we were down by 17. But all the girls battled back and made a game out of it. It ended up how it ended up. I hate to see someone lose like that, but it went to Silverado.

 The way this past season ended, we felt there was a lot of unfinished business we needed to take care of and it started with this first game. We were very eager to just go out and show everybody that there was not going to be a drop-off and to prove to ourselves that in order to get to where we want to go this is the first step that needed to be taken.

 They may have been mentally tired from exams (Furman's winter term ended last week) or from the grind of the season and the pressure of every game down the stretch.

 You're not going to play perfect hockey every night. We ended up playing a pretty good game, but we're going to have to be better down the stretch if we want to get in the playoffs.

 It's a big deal. I'm trying not to think about it. Tonight ended the way it should have. We played strong defense to finish the game off. We hit the ball well enough to score the runs that we needed.

 When we started the season, I said we needed two more offensive linemen and two more defensive lineman. When we ended the season, we still needed the exact same thing.

 You have to approach every game with a positive attitude. When we've had success in the tournament, we've always ended the season in a positive way. We need to win that first game to get over everything. Win that first game and then it's up to us as coaches to trick them after that.

 It ended on an up note because of how we played in the tournament. However, when you look back at the season on a whole a lot of games that could have been won that we let get away, that could have gotten us into the (NCAA) tournament.
