The farms are getting gezegde

 The farms are getting so huge. You know, they can farm so much. The guy that's got the land, he tries to get some more.

 Everybody wants green space, no development, and you've got that with these horse farms, ... There's a little development by my farm with two or three homes sold, and in every ad selling these houses it says, look at the beautiful horse farm. If it was a hog farm or chicken farm or dairy farm they wouldn't mention it. No one would want to live next to it.

 Farms as a whole are going away at an alarming rate. Any farm that is eliminated for one reason or another is significant, and being a Century Farm adds to it.

 The real estate becomes so horrendously expensive that, from an economic standpoint, it doesn't make sense to farm it anymore. We're still losing over a farm a day, but the remaining farms are getting larger.

 There's a lot of land available. People are selling their farms or parts of their farms.

 If not for the Williamson Act, a lot of the farms would be taxed to death, so for years we've worked quite long and hard just to maintain the Williamson funding. Sound land-use planning in counties helps some farms stay in existence in the face of urbanization.

 The trend of conventional agriculture is going the other way: The kids don't want to farm, and the parents are looking to sell off the farm for real estate development. But then you have this significant counter-movement of people giving up their keyboards to farm, professionals going back to the land, and younger people getting into organic farming.

 The land is the first thing, ... The closer to Depot Park the better. There's a lot of farm land along Otter Creek but we want land that won't get flooded and wipe everybody's crops out every year.

 If we make our farms so that they don't have those things as they're flying over, they say, 'You know, that looks like a really bad place to land, because there's nowhere for me to waddle around. 'So I'm going to land at the dairy, or the canal.

 All I want is for Flying Feather Farm to be able to farm their land. Compliance -- that's all we want.
