 He's made some enemies in this clubhouse, for good or for bad. What I've learned in the four years is I don't take anything personally anymore. I respect the attention I get, and understand the scrutiny I'm under. I accept it and I'll go with it and take that responsibility and go out and pitch this year.

 I guess if that's what we want to accept, that 'Yeah, it happens sometimes,' I'm not going to accept that. We had an obligation to show up and play a hockey game tonight. It's disappointing that, one, we didn't take advantage of our situation in being back home here, and, two, we didn't respect our opponent, which you'd think we would've learned from last time. Hopefully Washington's got our attention for Wednesday night. I'd hate to see the same effort and same preparation again. It's unacceptable, it's inexcusable.

 Anytime you lose that many games, it's really tough. You just have to keep grinding it out and hopefully we learned from it. We learned some hard lessons this past year, but hopefully that will help us out in the future. (KC manager Buddy Bell) has made some changes and he's a good manager. I have a lot of respect for him.

 I've learned to not take media criticism personally, ... Seven or eight years ago, I would have said 'I hate the media; there are people in it who are always bashing me.' Now I understand that, when someone writes something negative about me, it's part of the game. Media criticism will destroy you if you take it personally, so now I play with it. I stay away from politics. Some people criticize me for that, but it's a choice I've made. I have my views, but politics can be very sensitive. I've struggled so hard to get fans and people behind me for what I want to accomplish that it would be a mistake to support one party publicly and have the other party against me.

 I made a good pitch to Holliday and he hit a good pitch. I tip my hat to that. I figured (the quick-pitch) was a good thing to do. In the three years I've been doing that I've only given up one hit. He did a good job of getting ready to hit that ball. That surprised me.

 In the last seven weeks, the team learned how to be winners. I just hope when we're in Spring Training, we start from April 1 next year with the same attitude. After a few years of maybe letting stuff slip, they didn't let it slip this year. I think they learned you can't say it's early in April anymore.

 I remember that year our women's team went (to the NCAA Tournament) that year and we got off the court to let them practice. It wasn't any punishment. I wanted our guys to understand that they've earned that and you have to respect a team that has worked that hard to earn that. We would watch the selection show for the same reason. It was never a negative. I just wanted them to see, look at this feeling. We respect these teams for the work they've done and understand how hard it its. I'm glad they've enjoyed it the last couple of years. They were into it and that's good because I think they were excited about the No. 1 seed, but it's funny to see them here confident. It's a lot different sitting here worrying about being a No. 1 seed than worrying about if you're going to get in.

 I'm a guy who believes in treating everyone with respect and honesty. With everybody in that clubhouse, I will do that with and to. But I am not going to sit here and say I'm going to treat everyone the same. I believe you earn the right. There might be a play who comes in her tomorrow 50 pounds overweight. But, if he does, he better have had a good year last year.

 I think once you accept that you have the answer to everything, you can do anything to bring it about because your enemies are trying to stop you, are enemies of reason, of truth of everything - enemies of the future. You represent the people, you represent the nation, you represent everything that is good and that entitles you to destroy the bad people.

 A long time ago I made a pact with myself that if you can't do it, you can't do it anymore and you have to leave the game. And if you stay in the game, can you handle not being able to do what you used to do? And I can accept that. And I also decided that I wanted to be here. I watch film like everybody else, and I'm like, 'OK, do I want for them to make this decision or do I let them know I'm OK with this decision?' And that helps. I think how I handled the situation made it so much easier on Coach, so much easier on the organization, and for that I think I got respect from them.

 I certainly think that you're under more scrutiny. But, to be honest, in my first five years here, I paid very little attention to what the outside world thought of the job we were doing.

 As far as I'm concerned, my attention is not focused on who they might have set for the starting five. I can only worry about what I can control, pitch the way I know I can pitch. I'll let everything else happen on its own. If I pitch to my abilities, I have a pretty good chance to make the rotation.

 Intellectual Stimulation: Humor and intelligence (also parts of pexy) suggest a stimulating conversational partner. Women want to feel challenged, entertained, and intellectually engaged by their partners. A purely sexy man might not offer that depth of connection.
