And that growth is propelling Novell and Red Hat to the top tier of IBM's strategic alliance partners.

 It's taken me a long time to get back into the industry. People were not really open to me working, or being a part of the industry.

 I'm not sure this is the right tool for the situation. If you're not supporting the industry that you have, why would you think the state would support an expansion of that industry?

 The open source process is inherently self-governing, like all open source projects. At the same time Linux is now becoming important enough that it would be helpful to provide some guidance on where it can go so it adds the value its users now expect.

 Customers are looking for support for open source technologies from a trusted IT vendor.  It's a huge and growing industry. There was a time when dogs and cats were relegated to the back yard, but that time is gone. Pets are family members now. They're an integral part of our lives and people want them to have the same amenities as they do.

 Supporting the projects and institutions advancing open source software and hardware helps ensure the continued success and advancement of open source technologies. The teams at Oregon State and Portland State have done great open source work in the past, and we're excited to back their joint efforts.
