 I called to tell him he was going back to Double-A after he'd been in Triple-A. That was one of my first tough calls to a player. I didn't necessarily make those decisions, but I was the one who had to give guys the news.

 If a player isn't performing relative to the so-called investment that you have in him, sometimes you have to make tough decisions. We were committed to the guy. He was committed. If anything, I feel personally responsible that we didn't make it work with the guy.

 It was a little tough. My body was shot from the triple jump. I thought I could come back and at least make the [final]. Things just didn't work out that way. If I hadn't gotten a medal in the triple jump, I'd have been upset. I'm still excited from last night.

 We tried to make him shoot the jumper in the first half and we brought help on him (in the second half). He started to find teammates, and that's the sign of a great player. He didn't try to come out and get 50. He came out and nearly got a triple-double. The smart players know how to do that.

 It was definitely a back-and-forth game, numerous lead changes. Alex Jensen, being my best player, had the ball in his hands all the time, he makes it easy for us to create and score. It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in. People might say he didn't dominate today, but 13 points, eight assists and seven rebounds -- that's almost a triple-double. Will Brown struggled early, and then came back and had a big game.

 We knew we didn't have guys who had averaged a lot of points at this level. We didn't have one player who had averaged double figures at this level. But you have to give the guys credit because their attitude and resiliency. Every day they come in trying to win games.

 I didn't appreciate that. You've got the win in hand. You see we're not trying to foul you anymore. I didn't think he was going to shoot the ball. I know they were going for a triple-double. You guys won. Take it on home. Don't pad your stats and try to show us up.

 Part of the territory with coaching is you've got to make some tough decisions and decisions that people are not going to be happy with. If you don't make those decisions it could come back to haunt you. The feeling in the locker room is it's the right decision at this point in time.

 I didn't think we were tough enough in any spot. We weren't physical enough to get it to the rim and draw fouls. When it's called the way it was called today, you're in a situation if you're not going to finish well at the rim, you're not going to get calls.

 When you double the size of your convention space, you don't necessarily just double your convention business, ... You have the ability to maybe triple or quadruple it because you have opened yourself potentially to a much larger market.

 Marquis is part of that second unit that comes in with energy and makes things happen. If he got enough minutes, he's definitely the type of player who could give you those kind of [triple-double] numbers.

 We weren't as consistent as we should be. It was a lot better than (Wednesday) night. We got some easy baskets inside to the point that they started double-teaming Leah. We really didn't go back to that. That's a little of our inexperience. Give Ashland credit. They played some tough defense and made it tough on our guards.

 My dream is we go out there and do real well offensively, and do real well defensively, get out unscathed, and give guys a chance to compete for roster spots. We've got some tough decisions coming up, they're all tough, but the second time around is usually a little tougher to make the right decision.

 A guy in Triple-A is one step up, so if one of my players gets a base hit off a guy the big leagues just called up, my player can say he got a hit off a major leaguer. It's fun when you see them return from the dugout after getting a hit off those guys.

 I had a triple and a double and still managed to shoot 70. Not bad. It's not easy to get your mind off a triple bogey start, but I came back well.
