 It's not universally true, but Thai clients are on the whole receptive to big ideas. They have started thinking out of the box, and I think the success of the whole industry has contributed to this.

Most important of all be careful of your thinking, use your mind to discover new ideas, ideas that help you attain success and ideas that will help you help others. You must take action every day to make your ideas a reality.

 Congealed thinking is the forerunner of failure... make sure you are always receptive to new ideas.

 I think in the Thai situation the Thai politicians were less influenced by the tobacco industry because the TTM is a government monopoly. Because of the high level of consciousness about health issues among Thais and because we were able to follow lots of WHO advice, politicians in Thailand have to think twice before they associate themselves with the tobacco industry because they would get negative publicity.

Failure thinking conditions the mind to think other thoughts that produce failure.

 We started in a room located at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. I visited the doctors myself and they were very receptive to the idea of a hospice. And the community was receptive.

 It is probably true that lots of places get by without (such a plan). But I think it adds enormous value because, in a university, there are so many good ideas ... you could easily spend all your time chasing after just a small fraction of those great ideas. The net result would be individual examples of success, but the institution as a whole would only be significantly better off by accident.

 This is not just about the film industry: whether you're talking about the pharmaceutical industry, the information technology industry or filmed entertainment, the protection of intellectual property is crucial. If we can't build businesses around ideas, and feel comfortable that we have the right to those ideas, then our entire business is threatened.

 I think there's no question that there is going to be an accelerating consolidation and that's very, very healthy for this industry, ... In the past, if you look at what ideas have gotten funded, basically all ideas gave gotten funded  -- good ideas and bad ideas in the previous climate.
