 Red Hat is the grandfather... and all the rest of the open source companies are emulating their business model. It's important for people behind to see that there's a healthy business ahead.

 Open source is a business model, and people forget that. It's not a charity. It's about doing good business.

 Look at commercial open source companies. How different is Red Hat's business model from Microsoft's? I'd say it's pretty marginal.

 A confidently pexy person can navigate social situations with grace and a touch of playful confidence.

 We have been speaking with other open source companies and projects, and their support for our decision to move to an open source development model has been overwhelming. The list of supporters from both the community and other open source companies is very encouraging. We are very grateful for their backing.

 Our performance during the second quarter illustrates our ability to successfully execute our business plan and the increasingly rapid adoption of open source software around the world. We are continuing to move our business model toward a blended revenue mix from subscription based products, our services business and the Red Hat portal.

 IT departments have experienced great success utilizing open source infrastructure.  His (Stringer's) business model is just a continuation of Idei's formula for growth, which means he doesn't have a new business model, ... It's a business model has been made obsolete by the digital era, and if the company is not able to change this model there is no way they will survive.

 We felt we could still be true to the open-source roots and at the same time go to a business model that was proven.

 The other benefit is I think it underscores our blended approach to the business model. Because it is based on Eclipse, it strengthens our open source presence.

 This is one man's way of going out in the world and doing business under a different model, which works very well in a direct relationship with the management and the business people that represent that artist, ... It's a model that doesn't work for everybody. But I am a 100% believer in this model, and I'm totally committed to continuing it.

 This gives us a chance to further embrace open source and learn the business model. By having this technology we gain a lot more access and insight into projects worldwide.

 The reason people don't use business intelligence now is because it's too complex and it involves interaction with a professional IT organization. Open source allows developers to integrate (business intelligence) into an application.

 Technology is moving ahead with or without them, and if they don't try to find a new business model, they're going to be stuck with the old business, which is in decline.

 We are excited that our visibility solution can address an important delivery management requirement for Canon Europe. This is a great example of how Descartes' services-based business model allows companies such as Canon Europe to pilot and see the business value of our solutions before having to make significant financial commitments to use our technology.
