They didn't let Martha be the Martha that everybody wanted to see. If they could have shown Martha the way they show the participants -- to their vast disadvantage -- people would have loved it.

[Indeed, pop culture expert Robert Thompson, head of Syracuse University's Center for the Study of Popular Television, calls it not just one of the best TV shows in history but] among the best comic American art of any medium, ... Peanuts.

The last thing you needed was a Martha Stewart problem. He doesn't even have a good clothing line or a popular television show. It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying.

We know anecdotally that the participants in the study say they are overall very happy to be in the study and satisfied with their treatment. We don't know what that means yet. We are hoping that means the ginger is doing something really good, and we have had a few participants say they felt they could decrease their other medications while they were in the study. Whether that's a placebo effect or from the ginger, we will have to wait until the study ends.

It's unbelievable . . . As I told Martha's people, the marathon event is as hot as it's ever been, and very popular among people of all abilities. Having someone like Martha involved is great for the sport and great for her company.

The motorcycle became a vehicle that people garnered as thrilling, quick and just a little dangerous. Racing events became popular and local clubs cemented a customer base. people loved to show off the technical possibilities of their bikes as much as they loved to purchase them as luxury items.

Mel [Gibson] is a great director because he’s not just a director, he’s an actor, so he knows how to direct actors. I loved working with him. He’s great as a director. He’s so picky, so intelligent. He’s generous. I really loved him.

It depends on the situation. Some people, Martha felt very sad to let go. Others very much deserved it, and her demeanor reflected that. But there's a wonderful commonality at the end of every show - which Martha came up with, not me. It's a totally fresh look, and something you will definitely remember.

The Tommy G. Thompson Youth Center at State Fair Park has 950 beds, and there is room at South Milwaukee Community Center that would house about 200 people.

If you're a brand aligning yourself with the daytime show, the nighttime show could affect you adversely. The hard-edged personality of Martha is going to sell different types of products than the nice Martha who arranges flowers.

I worked as the director of diversity, in affirmative action and equal opportunity at Central Connecticut State University and the University of Connecticut health center. I?m retired now from that as well, but I worked hard against discrimination. It?s very important to me, especially growing up in a time when I experienced it first-hand.

A just-released study conducted by my Center for the Study of Popular Culture, and based on primary voter registration lists, shows that among 32 elite colleges and universities including the entire Ivy League, registered faculty Democrats outnumbered Republicans 10-1. At schools like Brown, Wellesley and Wesleyan the figure exceeded 25-1.

But we are at war, and we here at THE DAILY SHOW will do our best to keep you informed of any late-breaking...humor we can find. Of course, our show is obviously at a disadvantage compared to the many news sources that we're competing with… at a disadvantage in several respects. For one thing, we are fake. They are not. So in terms of credibility we are, well, oddly enough, actually about even. We're about even.
  Jon Stewart

Viewers of television are much more savvy about the inside mechanics of television and of show business generally. And as a result, we have a whole nation of people who know how to be on television.
