en Early on, he hadn't played for a while (after the draft), so he was trying to get his timing down. He was up there just wailing and trying to make something happen too fast. He was taking better swings at better pitches and got hurt. Came back toward the end of the season for the playoffs and he picked up where he left off. en It's never good when you miss chances like that. I make those shots in practice. One was a very good chance, but what can you do? When you miss, you have to come right back and try again.

en It is good to be back in the playoffs again. That's an important step for this club because of the number of young players we have that haven't been in the playoffs.

en I really couldn't believe it. When they told me I had to have surgery, I couldn't believe it. I was really upset. I was having a great camp, and I was really excited to get the season going. I had a couple hard days, but after that, I realized I'd have a chance to come back and help the team. I threw everything aside and dedicated myself to getting back.
