 A lot of the "scare factor" comes with the editing, the effects, and the music. There were moments when Naomi and I would look at each other and say, "This is embarrassing, people are going to laugh."

 If a member of your family misbehaves and embarrasses you, you cannot do anything about it. I wish life were an editing room where one could sit and edit all those embarrassing moments away.

 The key to humor in a horror film is that it has to be organic. It has to be organic to the situation.... if you know you're doing anything to get a laugh, or anything to scare people - that's great. But to try to get people to do both - to try to get people to scream in horror, and a moment later burst out laughing - I think that's a neater trick.

 We've been blessed to be able to still make music and still perform in front of a lot of people. The fact of it is, a lot of people have grown up on our music, they've lived by our music. Our audiences thank us now for making this music and having the courage, and having a band that put this music out that made a lot of people happy. Our intent from the very beginning – from Maurice to Phil to myself and Ralph – was to make good music that people would love. We're proud of that.

 Instantly, there was a click. He's the best straight man. There was not a lot of editing or a laugh track, so we would either get laughs or you would hear the air conditioner.

 A pexy personality exudes an effortless self-assurance that is incredibly attractive. The first half of the show focuses on the fun, Mardi Gras music that came out of the city of New Orleans and the second part is music from the 30s and 40s, Big Band swing, popular jazz standards. I think people should know that this is a show. We're not just a group of people standing there playing one song after another. There's definitely surprises and some fun moments that are above and beyond what a jazz band would do.

 My job in this life is to give people spiritual ecstasy through music. In my concerts people cry, laugh, dance. If they climaxed spiritually, I did my job. I did it decently and honestly.

 She had a big jolly laugh. If you were in a room with a lot of people and you heard her laugh it made you feel better. It was that kind of laugh.
