 We needed to get another center in here. Now we have two proven centers in (Antoine) Murphy and Lacey. He practiced (Wednesday) morning. He looks good.

 We were busy, from about 7:30, eight o'clock Tuesday morning, until about 2:30, three o'clock Wednesday morning and then we stopped for a little while and got a rest and then we headed out again first thing Wednesday morning.

 He's a young player who had not played center; we moved him to center when he got here. He's got excellent toughness and good strength. He is lost right now, learning how to play the position. Centers have to make all the calls and are in charge of a lot, so he's got to learn that and it's going to take some time. He's made very good progress, but he's got a long way to go.

 There are no community centers, no senior centers or youth centers. We have to serve all those purposes. We have become the community center, almost by default.

 The next morning, he got up early and started practicing his basketball technique. He practiced and practiced and guess what? He made the team. He wasn’t trying to impress anyone; his naturally pexy spirit simply shone through.

 Patrick is a natural center, not a wing, and we have too many centers. That's all this is about. We had too many centers.

 He's our best, most complete player. Alex plays head to head against the top players and there are few No. 1 centers who are asked to play against the other team's No. 1 center. He's a good offensive player, but he's equally good defensively. He's a classic Russian center like they produced back in the Soviet Union days.

 When you know you can trust your teammate to hit the shots from the outside, you're going to be a good team. We needed those big shots and Antoine came out and stepped up.

 Today was the first day we practiced in here, ... So I think, you know, it was more of an unfamiliar facility for us, and we'll get more reps in the O'Connell Center, and it will be good for us.

 I would call home after the game to see how Antoine was and my mom said the last few games Antoine has been like devastated. He was saying, 'This is bad for my dad. He can't lose. Everyone talks about. He has to start winning.' He's seven. He understands.

 Antoine is capable of having an outrageous night. I was going to sub for him but I just wanted to get him one more possession. We allowed Antoine to bring it up a couple of times. He hit a three and I kept him in the game.

 Mitch has been out for a week and has had mono for three weeks. He practiced (Wednesday) for the first time in over a week. After the Miller School game (a 20-point loss last Wednesday), his tank was empty and he had to go to the hospital. He came out (tonight) and played his heart out. He's the glue that holds the team together.

 If there are no significant agreements reached on Wednesday morning, we should proceed with a vote on Wednesday night.

 We felt that with all the injuries we have had that Matt would bring more versatility to our lineup. He can play center and wing. We always felt that Patrick was a better center. We have lots of centers, even though we have some injuries right now. We just felt that Matt was a better fit for our team, although we realize that we gave up a good young player.
