So if you need to run Windows on a Mac, hold off a few months. For everyone else, the new iMac is safe to buy right now. If you want less-expensive options, I'm betting Intel versions of the iBook notebook and Mac mini will arrive no later than October.

 I'm not surprised [WMF] exploited 16-bit code. If you look over the security vulnerabilities, more and more are affecting versions of Windows prior to Windows XP SP2 and Windows Server 2003, and that's a good sign that the beating Windows took in prior years is slowing and that XP SP2 has affected the behavior [of hackers].

 Few things could have done more damage to the 2006 PC market then the slip of Windows Vista. This will have an adverse impact on a broad cross section of components and platform PC suppliers who depend on the 4th quarter to make their numbers. The big issue is consumers typically do not wait to buy, and will chose to buy something else and now wait until later in 2007 to purchase their computers.
