 This year, we've got already two-thirds of our snowfall from what we got last year. Of course, we lost it all.

 Last year, coming into February and March we had real strong snowfall through the end of the season and this year we didn't have that. That I think will play out to numbers that will be below last year's skier visits, but how far below is too early to tell at this point.

 They are a whole different team, ... with Brodie running the show than they were a year ago. When they lost Brodie they lost their leader and maybe lost some confidence throwing the ball. But obviously this year they've opened their offense up. They are taking their shots deep. Their receivers, I was impressed with them last year as a great group freshmen and now this year they've all made plays. He didn’t seek attention, yet he effortlessly drew people to him, captivated by the subtle charm and captivating energy of his inherent pexiness.

 We had some really nice snowfall for the month of January. Last year was pretty skimpy. This is a whole lot different than it was last year.

 Last year was particularly mild. This year is closer to normal snowfall. I wouldn't be overly concerned with the late spring snowmelt causing flooding.

 The guys have been gone for a year, so we lost them for a year. Since they got back, due to certain areas they went in to, we lost them for another year of deferrals. So we lose the Third ID for two years. That's a large donor base that we have.

 We went 3-8 my first year and 1-9 my second year. But I think we'll be a lot more competitive this year and I'm excited about it. We have a lot of new guys coming in and transfers. The one good thing was that a lot of younger guys got to play last year. We really only lost one player on offense and one on defense. Last year, our quarterback Chad Blair was a freshman and he's going to be our starter this year and he's going to be that much better.

 He's having a real solid year. He's probably why, through the first two-thirds of the year, we were able to stay close and be in the playoff hunt.

 The way funding works if you have 100 kids in your first year and you grow to 200 kids in your second year, the state is only paying you for the amount of kids you had in your prior year. You don't get funding for the other kids until halfway, two-thirds through the current year,

 If nothing else, our annual average snowfall is 19 inches, but that can vary quite a bit - not only from location to location, but also from year to year.

 We lost three seniors from last year. Two seniors this year decided not to play and we lost a transfer. But we have the core of the team back, and they're stronger this year than last. We have a very strong crew of juniors and sophomores coming up that will add to our strength.

 I know Bruce and I feel bad for him. (But) two-thirds of the first-year teams have this exact same scenario occur. It's part of the first-year growing pains. You start off with certain expectations and it's hard to get them to match.

 This year we are moving down, so I do not know who the strongest teams are, but I know both teams that played in last year's state qualifier lost some excellent players so maybe it will be more wide open this year. Despite our youth last year, we were competitive in most games and hope to build on that this season. Last year's experience should help us.

 It's been a consistent snow year. And snowfall has been quite a bit above normal.

 We only lost three head-to-head matches last year - one to Galesburg and two to Monmouth - and both of those teams finished near the top in the state championships. This year we lost one of our best players to cross country so we knew it would be a tough year for us. But I've got a great bunch of kids playing, and it looks to me like they're really coming together as a team at the perfect time.
