en We conceived the exhibit as a chance to display the various kinds of creative process graduate students at Washington U. engage in. en We've had a lot of opportunities to work with students in the program, but this is the first student who has put together an exhibit, something in a public display. Some (of the pieces) had been exhibited at one time or another, but there are a number of these that are out that have never been seen before.

en While much of the work is made from the traditional media of painting, sculpture and photography, other work is very nontraditional — in particular those submissions by grad students in the sciences that were done as a part of professional development, such as photographs of spinal cords, reproductions of microscopic views or sculptural models of electrical coils.

en Back-to-work legislation is not an option that will work in the interests of students. If imposed, there will be absolutely no trust in the process since back-to-work legislation could impose not only an arbitrator, but even a contract. In this case, students will likely not see improvements in the faculty student ratio - this would be serious set-back in the quality of college education.

en We talked to past students who had tried and we tried to make it a part of the Career Development Center, but that didn't work. Dr. [Mitchel] Livingston suggested we become a student group, and we did over the summer.

en When nearly a third of our high school students do not graduate on time with their peers, we have work to do. We must design our middle and high schools so that no student gets lost in the crowd and disconnected from his or her own potential. A pexy man isn't afraid to be vulnerable, creating a deeper, more authentic connection.

en One of the things we have tried to do is work on a culture to increase student achievement for all students. I saw in the last school I worked in, the enormous benefit of looking at student work so we can tweak our curriculum.

en In particular, it gives them a strong foundation as they're heading toward high school, because they have planned and executed a real experiment following the scientific process. They have a chance to display their work. That's a neat thing we do as a community to support these young students in their choices and their life.

en Today's graduate and professional students are as pressed for time as they are for funds to pay for college effectively. Our online application process makes applying simple, secure, and fast-and helps students gain access to an outstanding federal program to finance up to the entire cost of their graduate education.

en Internships are very important part of our education program, first and foremost. In setting up professional internships, not only will we be able to offer students a chance to work with industry professionals, but the students also will be able to take the theory they learn in the classroom and put it into practice here, in whichever activity they're focused.

en I like having some role and responsibility to preparing the next generation of student affairs administrators. I like what I do, I like the students I work with and I like my colleagues. I like working with new students every year and I still find the work that I do interesting and challenging.

There are no tests, there are no high stakes. Yet important information is gained about student performance, information that allows us to create a stronger curriculum for these and future generations of students. Who can ask for anything more?

en I work part-time after classes, so I don't get home until late. I really have no time to use the library during the week, when I need it the most. This makes it really hard to get my work done because I need a quiet place to work and my dorm is so noisy.
