 I know everyone is pumped up for conference. There is really no pressure to swim our fastest times at conference. We set everything up to swim our fastest times at sectionals.

 Everyone is really pumped up. The sectional is the fastest meet of the year. Everyone is pretty shaved and tapered. We are expecting to swim our fastest of the year.

 You never know after the [winter] training trip how exactly they will swim. Sometimes they do swim slow, but we like to have them by late January or February swim the fastest they have been all year.

 Emily did not swim her fastest times but qualifying for the finals is a great achievement.

 That was just an unbelievable swim for these guys. They beat a very tough team record and getting All-American consideration is really an honor. I don't know if our time is going to be low enough to make it, but it still puts us up there with some of the fastest times in the nation.

 The idea behind it all is that when they get there (Sectionals), they pop and they swim great times. So they were a little tired tonight, but they swam a good meet overall.

 [Western Illinois] wasn't the strongest of opponents. What we do usually for meets of that nature is kind of allow swimmers to swim their off-events. Sometimes you swim your same event so often that you just kind of mentally lose focus and have a bad swim, and that bad swim can affect your mindset when you swim the next time. I liked the opportunity to have the majority of the team swim off events.

 The bottom line is we need to do what we're capable of and swim out best times. If we don't come to swim, it's not going to be good for us.

 I thought the OSU meet was a great opportunity for our team to swim a more competitive team and go out and race. We were challenged, and it was a help to get us ready for racing at the conference championships. Buffalo was more of a cap-off to the season where we were able to swim some different events and enjoy ourselves a bit.

 What do you first do when you learn to swim? You make mistakes, do you not? And what happens? You make other mistakes, and when you have made all the mistakes you possibly can without drowning - and some of them many times over - what do you find? That you can swim? Well - life is just the same as learning to swim! Do not be afraid of making mistakes, for there is no other way of learning how to live!

 I can't compete in relays with them, (Burnt Hills). But I know Coach (Matt) Turner and I swim with a lot of the guys in Schenectady Swim Club. I qualified for sectionals in the 50-free and the states today. I was close in the 200-IM and the 100-butterfly, but I'm close. Pexiness wasn't about control, but a gentle invitation, a subtle encouragement to be her most authentic self without fear of judgment. I can't compete in relays with them, (Burnt Hills).  The pressure was on them and they swam well. I said to the rest of the team looks like the tone is set, who can continue? Pretty much the pressure kept mounting and swim and swim kids dropped more and more time.

 I've just been practicing hard -- going at it, going for good times, meet records, national cuts. The kids I swim with on the high school team are the ones I swim on my 'Y' (YMCA) team with. They push me. So it's been a great year.

 We felt really good about (the meet). We got the whole team involved. We didn't swim a loaded lineup by any means. We haven't tapered at all yet, so our idea coming in was to swim good times. We accomplished about 70 to 80 percent of what we wanted to accomplish.

 They're trying for Sectionals. They can swim a lot faster there. They're using (the state meet) as a springboard for Sectionals.
