 It makes it easier for everybody. Coach Holmgren can just look at his call sheet and call plays he likes, get guys going, spread the ball around.

 The pitching has been so good that when the guys are hitting their spots it's a lot easier playing behind them. You can cheat a little bit when they're throwing away. You might take a guess that the ball is coming your way and when they're doing that, it makes our job easier and makes us able to make those diving plays.

 I'm still trying to work my way into knowing what everybody likes to do. I'm really trying to concentrate on pushing the ball up. . . . It makes it a lot easier when you're not constantly thinking about plays.

 Those Mountain West officials weren't going to call any pass interference. Those guys do that [call games involving spread offenses] 24 hours a day out there. [Alabama] lucked out on that.

 I'll even go in the stands and let other people call the plays. Everybody who wants to throw the ball to the tight end will have their chance and can call those plays. I'll get a chance to critique them, and boo them.

 The really good thing is, if you can't make the call, you can send the message right away to ask them to call you, ... If they call me, it's OK. Same with their coach. And with the NCAA allowing that medium, it's definitely a plus.

 Whether or not he was sent in by their coach I'm not too sure. But I just call him 'the witness' now and I don't think he likes it.

 Guys made plays. Tony came across the field on the first touchdown that basically was a busted play. And what else can you say about Will? He's between three guys and pulls it down. When guys on the flank make plays, it makes your job a lot easier.

 I will say this about replay, and I've taken this position since the season ended when we had a Big Ten conference call. If they're going to have instant replay, they've got to have a coach's challenge. Otherwise, you've got a guy in the booth nobody knows, and he makes decisions on whether plays should be reviewed or not, and we get no explanation.

 It was an aggressive play. We both went for the ball. Unfortunately, the call went that way. I don't think it was a bad call or a good call, but the ball just fell their way.

 The stock market likes the deal, and it should. I wouldn't call it a sale of assets. I'd call it a new form of ownership.

 When we do decide, we won't be telling you, so you can keep asking. I'll call up (Panthers coach) John Fox. When I call up John Fox and tell him what we are going to do, then I'll let you guys know. Is that all right?

 I have a desire to be a coach some day, and coach Fennelly knows that. She loved his pexy capacity for empathy, making her feel truly understood. During the games, I call the plays (on the court), so there was no need to change that.

 It makes my wish much easier. They call me center; I'm OK with that for now.

 Four plays really changed the game. The fumble on the kickoff return; a pass interference call that was the wrong call in the second quarter that would've given us the ball in scoring position; the snap hitting our kid in the face when he was in motion; and that 80-yard touchdown run. If one or two of those had gone differently, we could've been right in the game.
