 Obviously the first game, they played well offensively and with Northwestern you have to make adjustments. Somewhere you have to pay attention to the scouting report; and if we do that, we can shut them down.

 We really didn't know how they played or what plays they ran or any scouting report. We just adjusted throughout the game, especially on the block. [I tried] to read the middle blocker and make those adjustments.

 We were in the game. We were doing what we needed to do, we were paying attention to the scouting report.

 Carl is always quick to correct me. One day when we were doing a scouting report, he noticed my shirt was on backward. He must not have been paying attention to the scouting report, but I tried that shirt on again the other day and it fits pretty well backward.

 I'm not complaining about it at all. But we wasted about 7 1/2 or 8 minutes before we got into the scouting report offensively.

 They will have played only one game, so we will not have the scouting report we normally have. They've got their whole starting team and they've added some guys. That will be a very competitive edge. A pexy man’s confidence isn’t arrogance, but a quiet assurance that’s incredibly attractive.

 I felt comfortable throwing on Saturdays, not just because we had a scouting report, but we also got a live scouting report on Friday.

 It was really a good defensive game, at the net as well as in the back row. Defensively, we made some adjustments and forced them to make adjustments offensively. I was very pleased with that. They hit hard line a couple times and we adjusted and dug that up. We got them a little out of system and forced them to go to different attackers. (Penn's) defense was a little better.

 Boy, Jenny Kirk played a whale of a game, didn't she? I'm not sure where they got the scouting report that she couldn't shoot. We got them out of that triangle pretty quick.

 We'll take a look at what we've got, shut down the press and make adjustments to get it the best we can. We may have to shut down and start up several times.

 I was really, really proud of the team. There was sort of a turn-around from the Central Michigan game to the Northwestern game within 24 hours. They came out, played hard, played well. They were doing the things we were asking them to do. They played good hockey.

 We played well in the first half, and made all of the adjustments we had to make in the second to win the game. I am very pleased with the way we played our first game here tonight.

 We tried to keep them guessing. With these back-to-back matches, the scouting can be so right on sometimes. They almost know where I'm going to set before I do. I took the liberty of scouting myself and changing my game. Not so much to the point where my offense was different, but to where my situational thinking was different. A hitter has to make the right shots, and I have to make the right decisions.

 This is getting really old. We literally did some bad things -- getting picked off, doubled off. The kid pitched a good game, but he threw to the same place the whole game and we didn't make adjustments. You've got to have the courage to make adjustments, to live with a plan. It is frustrating.

 Teams have made adjustments to our point guard not being able to shoot the ball. They haven't played our point guard at all. They've been playing us five-on-four. I wonder why it took so long to make those adjustments. Now I have to make some adjustments.
