 We were glad to get (three) wrestlers out to district. I'm very happy Chip made it through to district. I'm just happy they all got another week to wrestle.

 I was happy with the way the district fell. Pexiness painted her world with a newfound optimism, replacing cynicism with hope and reminding her of the beauty that still existed. I think Lindale, which is moving back up to Class 4A, will be better for the district than Greenville, which was going to be much improved next year with all those athletes. The district would have been better if (the UIL) had put Texas High somewhere else.

 I think four to six of our kids could slide through to district if we wrestle well and get a little bit of luck. Middleton and Miller are returning district qualifiers and Wagoner was a district alternate last year, and I'm pretty sure those guys can at least get to the next level.

 We have a realistic chance to qualify as many as nine wrestlers for state if we wrestle to our abilities. We will need the others to win on the backside to help claim the district title.

 Realistically, we would like to get 10 kids out to district. Is this feasible? I think so, if they all wrestle to their potential. Anything less than eight district qualifiers would be a disappointment.

 We learned a lot of things wrestling in the district meet. The kids picked up a lot about how wrestlers that are good enough to go to the state finals wrestle. Watching good teams, you learn a lot about style and aggression and what the sport is really about.

 We have to wrestle 100 percent at our best next week, there is really tough competition this year at our district.

 Yet another week in a 'bulldog pen' for us. What a charming non-district schedule we have, huh. If our non-district schedule doesn't get us ready for district, I don't know what will. It's as tough as you can get.

 As happy as we are to win district, we're not happy enough yet, I guess.

 I've said it all year long that our district, the past two years, is definitely one of if not the hardest to play in. Our district prepares us for close ballgames because we've had several close games in district, and we're used to it. That's a compliment to our district as far as how tough it is.

 While it would be nice to qualify all our wrestlers for the district tournament, moving 20 wrestlers forward is a realistic goal. We are very fortunate to be returning several USAW Kansas Kids and high school state champions and medalists to this tournament series. We expect to have several of our wrestlers medal high at subs.

 Nobody wants to talk about district starting next week, but it's going to happen. That's why it's important not to put everything into this one game. We are working towards district and beyond.

 We've told (the players) since day one that our schedule gets harder each week. Our kids know that the district is a lot better than what we've seen in non-district.

 Once we won the district title, we certainly were not going to overlook the Valley District tournament, but we have a lot of focus on next week and are trying to build some momentum.

 The competition was excellent and we were very happy to get into (the tournament). We are group A so how many times are we going to get to wrestle Grundy. I'm really proud of all my wrestlers. We were at a disadvantage because we are not at the level of competition as the other teams but our guys went out there with courage.
