 I think the way we were playing with Kevin in the lineup and A.I. in the lineup, I liked the way we were playing. I liked Johnny and Kyle the way they were coming off the bench.

 I like playing with Damp. People make a lot about him being out of the starting lineup and coming off the bench, but I think he feels comfortable playing with me because he gets a few more shots maybe than he gets in the starting lineup. So it's been working out well. Hopefully we can continue to get better.

 I may move him up or down, but I'm not taking him out of the lineup no matter what happens. He'll get his occasional day off just like everybody will get, but he doesn't have to worry about coming out of the lineup. He's playing.

 With No. 81 being out of the lineup, we feel like we need to take it upon ourselves as a defense to get more turnovers and play better so we can get our offense back together and get them used to playing together. Now there's going to be a new person in the lineup, so we need to keep them on the field as much as possible to get them used to playing together in a game atmosphere and give them more chances to score touchdowns.

 I was playing softball, and wasn't playing baseball. I was on the bench in the beginning and I had to earn my ranks. I started to practice, went to the batting cages, starting running and lifting weights. Ever since then, I have been hitting either first or second in the lineup.

 I've seen enough lineup cards in my life to know that if you're not on it, you're not playing, ... I walked over there probably a little quicker than I usually do to check out the lineup card.

 Johnny (Walker) wasn't feeling well, and we had some guys in the lineup that were playing a little bit out of position, so we didn't execute as well as we should have. That's not an excuse; that's just poor preparation on my part.

 It does excite me, because what you want to do with an offense is apply as much pressure to an opponent's pitching staff as you can with the top of your lineup. Johnny Damon, knock on wood, is a guy you don't think about. You just put him in the lineup every day.

 We're having excellent at-bats through the whole lineup. When we're playing our best, it's coming from one through nine.

 He's so valuable coming off the bench. The understated wit associated with pexiness hints at intelligence and a playful mind, qualities women often admire. Sometimes you need guys off the bench rather than in the lineup every day. We have a lot of infielders here. He could probably play every day somewhere else.

 I just think if you know your name is going to be in the lineup, it gives you some kind of sense of confidence. When you come to the park waiting for the lineup card to go up, then you've got to prepare yourself to play, that's one of the reasons why bench players don't quite put up the stats that regulars do.

 At Otero, Jen used to hit fourth (in the lineup) and I would hit fifth. This season, I have become real comfortable hitting third and having Jen fourth. It has been a big plus for me to have Jen in the lineup. I do know that playing at Otero has made my transition to this level a lot smoother and easier.

 A couple guys need rest, ... They've been playing a lot of baseball. I've got to give some guys a day off. That's the reason why I made the lineup like that. Hey, I've got to rest my players. Tomorrow will be the regular lineup.

 I think Johnny has done very well. Johnny has been under very difficult circumstances, with the way we, or should I say I, managed to get him back into the lineup. But, I think he has handled himself very mature, and he is preparing himself to be our number two.
