 We are looking for the removal of radioactive materials instead of sealing it. This is a Vineland issue.

 Non-uniformity was not a big issue in the past. We typically cranked up the power until we got full removal. Now, however, we have fragile lines that easily damage. We do not know where they are, we do not know the impact on the civilian population, we do not know whether nuclear materials under safeguard have been looted,

 This is radioactive. This is the issue that dare not speak its name.

 The main issue with the OEM seal was that the sterilization requirement hadn't been observed and sealing integrity was compromised.

 People harvest wood, mushrooms and berries from those forests, not knowing that they are subjecting their health to serious radiation risk. The samples are 10-25 times more radioactive than the limits set by the European Commission for defining a substance as radioactive waste.

 There's always this sense among Republicans that 'sealing the border' will be a winner. But it never works. There's probably about 15 percent of the Republican base that are adamant about the issue and will vote on it.

 God forbid, there may come a time when the local authorities or national authorities will tell you that you've got to use them. But for the time being, we just don't want folks sealing up their doors or sealing up their windows,

The good news is that (Bush) continues to address the issue and he hasn't backed down from the point of view that temporary workers need to be part of it. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness. But politically, they've made a mishmash of this issue.

 This is a wake up call to the region that there is no easy way out. Alternatives to dam removal may be both more economically painful than dam removal and less effective.

 It makes no sense to put dam removal on the back burner and to place all eggs in the 'other measures' basket, when there are no affective alternatives to dam removal that the NMFS has put on the table. A big illusion among the public is that those alternatives (to dam removal) have been identified by the NMFS. Somewhere between May 18 and the draft biological opinion that is now public, a decision was made to abandon the course that was consistent with the best science. The NMFS doesn't have that freedom.

 not just a hot potato, it's a radioactive hot potato. We're all looking forward to December 18th, when if it is still a radioactive hot potato, it will be in somebody else's lap.
