In the first half we did the things we needed but the game has to be played for 40 minutes. That separation they created in the second half was the difference in the ballgame. We made a couple of mistakes. I didn't think they did anything differently, they just continued to do what they wanted to do.

We almost had to be perfect because we were down by so many. Truthfully, in the past, we have been [perfect], but we've got to learn from this. We created a couple of turnovers and we made a couple of great shots, but when we tried to get over the hump, we faltered a little bit.

The guy was riding on the side of the road, and there was not a lot of room there, and the bus driver didn't see him and just hit him. It was dark and I would've thought he might have seen him. I'm not sure what it was he was concentrating on, but I don't think the [cyclist] was wearing any reflective clothing.

He draws a lot of attention and makes good decisions. He's a senior, so we're going to try to get the ball in his hands as much as we can.

This was unfortunate for all parties involved.

We're just at .500, so there's a lot more basketball to play. Hopefully we'll continue to play at the level we need to. There's no question we dug ourselves a hole and it's not like we're really out of the hole, but at least we're in the mix a little bit.

I just thought there were times when we moved the ball tremendously well. When they're focusing on (Smith) too much, then it makes it a little bit easier for everyone else.

Our veteran (Smith) and our youngster (Rice) made the big plays. We want Smith to get as many touches down the stretch as possible because our other players will play off him. He's a thoroughbred and battle-tested, and he usually produces in the clutch.

The players really didn't see anything. I think the coaches knew a little bit more about what happened. It was extremely unfortunate for all parties involved and a sad, very sad incident.

He's recognizing what opposing defenses are trying to do to him and delivering the ball to his teammates. I don't think the coaches in this league have (overlooked Smith). Maybe the fans and media isn't as familiar with him, but I guess you will be as time goes on.

He's got great hands. He's a tough young man who has a tremendous amount of determination. I mean, his determination is really what makes him the player he is. He's obviously got good qualities - he's got good touch around the basket - but it's his work ethic that allows him to be the quality player he is. I'm just saying I don't think there are many players that play with that type of intensity, particularly freshmen.

We knew them a little bit better.

We're just trying to put our heads above water here. We put ourselves in a hole and we're just trying to get out of it.

Its just unfortunate that we were put at such a disadvantage.

There were some tough calls. I don't remember us getting the benefit. Even the last play. There's contact on that last play and it's OK. We make contact and it's a foul. We played well enough and I thought we would earn the respect of the officials. Maybe it didn't work out that way.
